Mastodon/Primus Concert Review | Giveaway | Snippet Reactions of 'Steambreather' & 'Ember City'!!

  1. *insert name here*: Anthony Ochoa A band should be better live. Otherwise what’s the point?
  2. Patrekur Örn Róbertsson: I hope they read this, it's so goddamn right.
  3. Sergio Murillo: Yooooo!! I’m so happy you guys got to see The ‘Don!! Badasssss
  4. RedLikeWater: You guys are gold
  5. Jake Gordy: I would love to see your guy's reactions to more metal shows. I thoroughly enjoyed this vid.
  6. Grégoire SARAFIAN: Awesome, guys, I'm happy for you !!! Next show you need to see, GOJIRA of course, as Derek says too !! Curious of your reaction even you filmed watching the gig (if you agree of course, for "Live Reaction")
  7. jakeybball: For Ember City
  8. Mike Manseau: Straight up, welcome to the bliss of seeing bands live. Most metal/rock bands will sound significantly better live. Bigger speakers, amps, production and just overall energy!
  9. RealGamerManz: What are you listening to the songs on? Cause their producution sounds pretty clear to me. I can hear everything Brann is playing.
  10. Trey Rafalowski: I knew Ember City would hook you guys!
  11. madhatterjustin: Came for some Primus and got Mastadon. You guys should check out Queens of the Stone Age. Pretty sure you will like it.
  12. hatedheretic: @15:30ish, a fun little drum off between Brann and Danny Carey (Tool): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDHnME0LZ2w
  13. Wallbanger Holguin: You ain't seen nothing till you've seen Megadeth live!! Talk about tight fast bad ass musicianship!! You'll never experience anything so amazing!! till you've seen them live!!! If they are ever in Vegas again you need to go ! I promise you won't be disappointed !!!!!
  14. madabaum: God damn it George! Lol go see Gojira Live. Hahaha your head might explode.
  15. metaladdiction4life: That’s a great bill for your 1st!
  16. Electric JC: Primus Sucks.
  17. Andy Sanchez: Primus and Gojira are some of my groups. Glad that they have a bit of presence to this awesome channel.
  18. mike last name: There's a great video with brann and Danny Carey (from Tool) drumming together. You should do a reaction to that. If I knew how to do a link I would put it in here...but I don't. Just search "Brann Dailor Danny Carey" it's the first one that pops up.
  19. mvunit3: DAMN!!!! Its about freakin' time - a LIVE experience for most of the bands you haven't warmed up to, will definitely change your ears and "point of view". Opeth, Kings X, Mushuggah, Dream Theater and MORE! Primus is great live, seen them 4 times throughout their career. Dream Theaters new album will be coming soon, and Queensryche & Fates Warning! Will not be playing in Vegas but Los Angeles in March 28th 2019. I hope "one day" I can send you a few DVD's to sit down one day and take in some of those bands, and others you haven't heard yet. Now GO! GO FORTH and experience MORE bands LIVE!
  20. Alexander Vandecaveye: If you want to see Brann Dailor play his drums solo, check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qns3Gb5O79I
  21. Sono2: I agree with the studio version being too muddy. It's like listening to music underwater.. The quality is low.
  22. Stars Die: Brann is an excellent drummer and I actually like his vocals the most in the band. Cool you met him and everything.
  23. dave ethridge: I saw that concert in Kansas City.
  24. Jef Pauwels: If you get the chance, you should try to see an Alestorm concert.
  25. Air Ball: I just love how real you guys are man. This legit makes me want to be open to new music and go to more concerts.
  26. MOLOCH SORCERY: I know a lot of people hate him politically but music wise Ted Nugent has a few good tracks worthy of your consideration and one of them is "Venom Soup". You won't be sorry. Damn good jam.
  27. Bradley Nagawiecki: Y'all should definitely check out Night Verses. Anything of their new album is solid, but "Vice Wave" is probably a great starting place, and they're definitely not as big as they deserve to be. Oh, and their drummer is insane.
  28. JPeeper: Steambreather is an amazing song, Roots Remain and Jaguar God are the the other two are also 10/10 songs (all off Emperor of Sand).
  29. Michael Marhal: cat daddy :( :| :D
  30. Caleb Paden: If you checked out Les Claypool then you gotta hear Jaco Pastorious, Birdland live would be a good place to start...
  31. goni whithewindy: OMG...you guys actually did it..??
  32. Richard Girdwood: Enjoyed this guys, hope you get to more shows! I've seen Mastodon two times, including my 21st, 12 years ago! I get your critique, they were 10/10 live, but never got massively into them for some reason, but the production was never my bag.
  33. Arthur Bugorski: You should see Opeth live.
  34. Carson Ogden: "That ain't no coaster..." Hahahahahaha
  35. Nolan Void: I don't if you were referring to analog vs digital but analog has a smoother/warmer sound whereas digital is a little more harsh and clinical. Still think your first Mastodon experience shoulda been Iron Tusk.
  36. RageAgainstRustyCage: I have to ask....This Video says uploaded Yesterday, but some comments below are a MONTH OLD......How's that? I've seen that in a few other videos & it makes me think I am missing notifications of uploads...
  37. Rick O: Have you guys still not seen The Motherload video by Mastodon??? Seriously you're gonna love it.
  38. John Lampe: Dude! Primus "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" (I know, but trust me!) or "Jerry Was A Racecar Driver." NASTY funk grooves! Les Claypool going NUTS!
  39. DjEazyLee: Been watching since 40k. As a inner city rap kid, you guys really put me on to music I thought I'd never enjoy. Much love and salute
  40. Michael Shiller: The muffled sound is partly because the compression applied during mastering. A lot of rock nowadays has very little dynamic range. It's usually the record company and not the artist deciding to do that.
  41. asdfqwerty212: Extreme - Waiting for the Punchline - title track You'd dig the whole album. Crystal clear production (stripped down, you hear it all). Nuno Bettencourt is a groove virtuoso. Gary Cherone is a master vocalist. Mike Mangini features on this track, you'll know him as the new drummer in Dream Theater.
  42. Charles Mcclendon: Do earthgang ft. Mac miller Monday
  43. Elric Newby: it's interesting because most of the time Metal music is less clear live. Must have been great acoustics at the venue, but then again some concerts can be extremely loud
  44. Recneps Hutchens: Crystal lake - AERO
  45. RageAgainstRustyCage: You guys should do PINK FLOYD - THE WALL ....The whole thing.... it's long, but there's nothing like it... Pink Floyd was really awesome in Song Arrangements on Albums, so there's a storyline, more or less, and really so many great songs on their entire portfolio. JUST DO IT, Thank you guys.
  46. ProtoClone: Peeping Tom - Mojo
  47. Evan Davidson: emporer of sand is their best other than crack the skye....imho
  48. Mar218100: Primus - Harold of The Rocks
  49. As: If you want to get out of usa borders. https://youtu.be/nfB6U0yPGiI An Israeli rapper named Ron Nesher / Skydmc in provocative Freestyle
  50. Skilgannon the Damned: Baroness has great music
  51. Trey Schwartz: Unless you listen to Primus then you won’t understand your comment. I listen to Primus. I get it!
  52. alwaysdriveing: Really glad you got such a chance. And yes, there is a difference. Nothing like the energy of a live show.
  53. Metalisgreat Metalisawesome: I'm so glad you guys discovered a way into mastodon! I suspected you eventually would. Enjoy! If you're feeling adventurous check out The Last Baron. It's very 'proggy', but I think it might be seamless and fluid enough that you guys might really like it. I also can't believe you met Brann! That's so cool! I'm a drummer, and he's like one of my biggest idols.
  54. Atomic West: Here’s one: https://youtu.be/lj4cbYAWUqg
  55. GRUESOME CTHULHU: Also wondering how you feels about the different dynamics in hip hop live vs rock and metal. Just curious
  56. CB Poppet: Steambreather doesn't have a groove....... It's got a trench. Seriously, I saw Luke Skywalker flying his X-Wing down it.
  57. santastolemyshoe: Poison the Well. Any song.
  58. Steve Soldwedel: My ex-girlfriend made me a shirt that says "Cat Daddy" on it. No Lie. I reposted this as quickly as possible because the original proved that I Swype a word with one less letter than "shirt" far more often than "shirt." 😂
  59. groverXIII: This is awesome. Seeing Primus live was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
  60. Iordanisfra Fra: Tad Morose - Ares !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( metal song )
  61. Pavel Blacktown: Ill Nino - How Can I Live
  62. Ian Rodriguez: gotta do Nasty by Polyphia
  63. Paul M: I knew you guys would dig songs from the more recent releases of Mastodon and most likely select cuts from earlier albums such as Crack The Skye, The Last Baron, This Mortal Soil, Sleeping Giant. Shows there is still hope for the likes of Porcupine Tree too :)
  64. Richard Skipper: I recommended this band a while back, good to see you got to see them live.Very underrated band imo.
  65. Biff Barf: You never know where this could take you guys! The right moves/reviews... this could very well be your full time job... with the VIP treatment at shows.👍🤘
  66. jamatheo: I clicked "like" before the intro was over... [edit] I love it guys, you are so on point with everything you say about the band and the show. Also, "Ember City" is one of my all-time Mastodon favourites, and an absolute live hit (possibly the best sing-along piece Mastodon ever came up with).
  67. sirefromtheshire: Margaret Gardner seriously its ruining the experience for them
  68. Electric_Eye: So when's the Gojira concert? :)
  69. Rob Barrere: There was a big metal scene in Metairie in the 1990’s....Fat City...miss those days
  70. Coldfear22: I was at this show when it was at Art Park in Western New York. Glad you guys liked it.
  71. Seimenn Lutz: I think it strongly depends on the lokation and the acoustical circumstances, how a band is sounding live. Last time I saw Mastodon in Herford/germany, it sounded so washed together, it was hurting my ears. No differentiation in the instruments and the vocals only fully came through in quieter songs. Such a shame, I could't really enjoy them that night. :/
  72. William Willoughby: I would love it if you guys checked out Alcest. They are a french heavy metal band that utilizes arching atmospherics, celestial melodies, suffocating roars better than just about any band out there today. If interested check out either: Kodama from their album Kodama E'cailles De Lune - part 1 and 2
  73. Brian Williams: Cat daddy? Lol
  74. Ian Young: Time for BAND-MAID.
  75. AgentDustal: Guys your heads will explode if you catch Gojira. I was luckily enough to see them and Mastodon a few years ago at First Ave in Minneapolis. Keep doing what you are doing and don't forget to wear earplugs at shows!
  76. B1G R3D: Do you have 3 different accounts weirdo......or 8?
  77. Growlizing: I have also been stressing this with others as well. You just can't listen to this busy kind of metal with cheap computer speakers or headphones. It just sounds flat and terrible, noisy and imbalanced.
  78. Wubba Rocks: I've seen them twice and they were amazing both times
  79. Scruffy Goatpants: Gorjira Oroborus...a must do!!!!!
  80. Super Mario: Guys you should check out Obscura - Ten Sepiroth drum playthrough by Sebastian Lanser #catdaddy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05bcLLiylY0
  81. Kevin O'Brien: Man you guys have to see Metallica in concert!! You will not be disappointed! Best live concert I've ever seen
  82. Brian P: Check out some High on Fire. They have some influence on Mastodon.
  83. Strung Up: I used to watch that every time it was played on VH1 late at night.
  84. Zach Hannah: I saw them on that tour. Primus was so great.
  85. mike s: Love watching you guys. Don't know if i'm too late but cat daddy lol
  86. war1ock241: Do warp riders album - the sword) love mastodon
  87. Bryan: If you guys want to react to Brann playing drums; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO7MH4lFQi8 This is him performing Ghost of Karelia live. In my opinion, one of his best drum tracks. It's glorious.
  88. iangottmusic: Man I search your channel to see if guys did Primus! Nice job guys. Please revisit Primus with a reaction video to Wynona's Big Brown Beaver!
  89. Victória Heloise: PLEASE COME BACK WITH GOJIRA REVIEWS (I just going to keep making commentaries about guys) hahaha every time the damn bell rings I think is Gojira's review but.. nop
  90. Chris Munoz: I went to the theprimus mastodon concert in Avila Beach june27
  91. Peter Jones: Please get studio monitors. You'll hear the quality. Good review though.🔥🔥🔥
  92. Nathan Cardosi: Between the Buried and Me - Prequel to the Sequel (Colors, 2007) or The Proverbial Bellow (Automata pt. 2, 2018)!
  93. Kenneth Noisewater: Yup. They would love that one because they went nuts over "Judith." Do it!!
  94. Talos DOGGOD: Duuuude I would be stoked for that puzzle
  95. Brian Steele: I saw Primus a few months ago, drove 9 hours to Biloxi to be there. Since you have been to their show you really need to do another Primus video. The Seven off their newest record is a great song. If you want to start farther back try John the Fisherman or Jillys on Smack.
  96. Big Blacc: Mastodon is one of those bands that people tend to either love or hate. Like others have said, depending on how you're listening to their music, it can change your feelings about the songs. Relisten to their stuff on some high quality headphones and you still get the individuality and clarity that you claim to be missing from the records versus the live versions
  97. Steve Minghini: 666
  98. xZiNKx310x: React to Young Gully - Like The River Runs
  99. And E: Live concerts, I love it. Sooo much better than record. Meshuggah live is pure art, and bone crushing heavy.
  100. Deven Science: +lneiman my wife said Rammstein was the best concert she's ever been to, and she's not even a fan! Haha.
  101. Raoul Duke: wentropy I love Primus but that is probably my least favorite song on Frizzle Fry and not a good song for people new to Primus
  102. PV5150II: Ruins the guitar tone for me. Earplugs muffle everything.
  103. endocry: Sorry, I love Tool and saw them in Germany in like 2004, but AC/DC is still hands down the best live show I've ever been to.
  104. Shameful: I’ve seen them live twice. I kinda agree. Live...they are “live”!! I even bought a guitar amp from Billy K. Good band.
  105. Grayson Gilbert: I’ve got a pretty sweet full video of both “Steambreather” and “John the Fisherman” on my channel!
  106. Anne Victory: Oooh. I would fall out if I got invited to see Zac Brown. Maybe you can catch them some other time. So glad you had a good time at the Mastodon / Primus concert :-)
  107. Outrage: Please do Mikasa by Veil of Maya, you guys
  108. Get To Da Choppa: I love you guys but telling people the production isn't crystal clear on there latest couple of albums is B-B-B-B-BOGUS!!! (the songs picked where from the last 2 'overproduced' albums) I mean they wouldn't pick an artist and let them win a grammy if they sounded like some kind of 'sewer black metal band from the mountains of Greenland with a 80's tape-deck'. Things you sexy boys could do, and please try this: A: Buy stuff like a skullcandy/beats what ever you like but quality HEADPHONES with crystal sound, hook two up and THEN listen. (I love my skullcandy chrusher, but you have to like bass) B: F#$% YouTube quality, listen on something like SPOTIFY and HIGHEST QUALITY setting. This really beats YouTube any day. FLAC lossless files are perhaps the next step <- read about this. C: Train your ears even more and get used to this 'raw' sound in general, you'll have WAY more music to enjoy. The thing you guys called washed out maybe fits the fact you don't like to actually dive into this sound wall. if it's 'as you guys call it drowned out' maybe dive into the sound pool with it, here a pair of headphones REALLY work well, they dip you into that sound wall. Again, I love you guys but Mastodon is one of the best produced Metal bands out there, there is either something going on with your quality speakers OR source. Give them another try on headphones please.
  109. Charles Raffaniello: So glad you guys went to a show! Said on a few videos, you guys need to catch GWAR live... that's a whole experience.
  110. Vasil Gentian: Going to see them in January hyped to say the least
  111. Keith Kinkade: You guys gotta watch their videos!!!!! They are great!
  112. Ant Kings: PRIMUS OG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  113. Suco De Fruta: React to Epica - monopoly on truth (live retrospect)
  114. Tim Smith: Gojira and Lamb Of God are must sees live.
  115. Trey Schwartz: My personal opinion, for what little it’s worth, the best record release of 1999 was Primus’ ANTIPOP.
  116. Steve O'Bryan: Need to do AvataR song Any song really... They're all good
  117. Razorbackfan2794: React to stargazm or the hunter epic beautiful mastodon songs
  118. I Love Food: React to Green Jelly - "Three Little Pigs".
  119. Kevin Lund: I have seen mastodon 3 times and it’s always a great concert. I saw them with primus this year and the concert was great. You guys have to listen to too many puppies.
  120. Shani Bernstein: love the video guys! Mastodon are one of my favorite bands of all time, they are amazing musicians.
  121. glemden87: I really dont understand your point, mabye on the earlier records, but not this one.
  122. Khalgaming: Mastodon is super good live they have such a great show live. I saw them with Alice in Chains and Deftones which was a mindblowing lineup. React to Nothing More - This is it or Fade in/Fade out. On another note check out their studio version of Toe to Toes you wont regret it!
  123. Troubledbananas: How are these comments a month already? Buuut please react to country boys can survive by hank Williams jr
  124. snaxthkilla: You need to check out jelly roll and struggle jennings- cant go home, fall in the fall, dearly departed, anything with them in it
  125. Weird Beard: you guys should react to Primus's Shake Hands with Beef
  126. Old Man Rolling Home: Awesome, guys! Saw Mastodon last summer and they're pretty awesome. So are you!
  127. BackSlash Camp: You guy should give us an update on “the playlist” I’d like to know what songs you still jam. What songs you no longer jam.
  128. Draven BBS: Mastodon has improved so much over the years with their live shows. I fricken love those guys they rock.
  129. Nicholas Mercado: What up with the podcast guys? Or even start inviting artist to the show when you do a review. If you could organize it like that. Although I guess that would affect you're honest and biased review.
  130. 99 Pac: Greydon square - cosmic harvest. Also can you guys put the genre in the title? Keep up the great work
  131. Bene: 3:29 "Hello everybody my name is Ryan.." : ) Congratulation for living through and surviving your first metal concert. So when can we expect you to start moshing?
  132. Beat Met: PRIMUS SUCKS!🤟
  133. Storm Gates: You should check out Between the Buried and Me "Condemned to the Gallows" Nominated for a Grammy!
  134. 7Ghoste: Cat Daddy
  135. Jon Roberts: Sick Of It All - Just Look Around
  136. Eric Cornwell: +BestUsernameIGot Why Nil By Mouth? That wouldn't be their jam at all. Also Ross is one of the best parts of Haken, having them review a song with no Ross wouldn't make any sense.
  137. Jen Hilla 98: lol that song fukn blows
  138. Mike Walker: ^ This times a million. Live at Wacken
  139. The Scranton Strangler: I saw Primus and Mastodon this year, front and center, got one of Branns drumsticks he played during the show, it was great.
  140. Mikus Palmis: I'm a cat daddy. My cats love me.
  141. jear: sorry for 2 comments but i think as far as production goes its really a matter of taste and audio quality (headphones would help too) so i think you'd like their album The Hunter, its easily their cleanest sounding record.
  142. Rick Henderson: awesome vid/review, cat daddy! I saw them when they came to Oklahoma this year. I agree that it's a great show and a totally different feel/vibe/sound than the studio albums. TBH, there are very few metal bands/albums that I think are well-produced, so the bad/muddy production is just something my ears have adjusted to over the years. Plus, I think years of being an (amateur!) musician has helped me be able to hear all the individual parts even when the production tends to cloud them. I've been raving about Brann's monster drumming since back when Remission (their first LP!) came out. If you really want to hear him tear it up, give Crusher Destroyer a listen. First track off their first album, so extremely raw, but it sounds like what you'd expect from that title!
  143. James McConnell: Check out The Czar and The Last Baron from Crack the Skye.. long but crazy good, lots of transitions, etc.... do it!!!!! Lol
  144. Nomad La Rama: I went to the Boston, and Providence shows in July and as a big Primus fan, Mastodon was great both times and made me appreciate that style of music a bit more I must say
  145. Kaleb Copeland: At the beginning of the video right now but I am so jealous! You just experienced two of the most influential bands to hit the prog/metal scene. Def would love to see more Mastodon reactions! First one I'd love to see would be March of the Fire Ants from their Remission album :) Love ya guys!
  146. Bat Man: I loved Primus and Mastodon that was a great concert however the band that I am longing to see live as far as metal bands go is Dimmu Borgir I suggest you try to see them live
  147. Peter Kelkelund: You guys really are the best 🤗
  148. Isaac T. Rmz.: Bro, saw Gojira at H&H at Mexico City last May. It was by far the best concert of that weekend even with Judas, Ozzy,Megadeth,Scorpions,Deep Purple,Mastodon rockin its finest
  149. Daniel Erickson: Slipknot disasterpieces
  150. Alan Thompson: Thats awesome so happy for you guys, love Mastodon
  151. Tony Glock: You mean analog V.S. Digital?
  152. Josephious Brosif: Alter Bridge - "This Side of Fate"
  153. Carl DeScott: The final production of most modern music is compressed so much that the depth and details are lost in translation. Awesome work guys!
  154. spykp: +Carefree CFC lol why would you even think about that? Just because of 4-5 seconds of the same melody? Don't be ridiculous brother! Nothing can ruin that masterpiece for me, no matter how hard they try \../
  155. Matt Cote: i like lost in vegas as much as Ryan likes v-necks.. LOOK INTO TOKEN- Treehouse or Code Red. And look into Cats from Team Backpack if you havent.
  156. FLIP !: I feel like cat daddy isn’t something y’all use on the daily. It’s a always a good thing when a ban sounds better live! Glad you guys are show bound!! I think you’ll find the metal community is typically always very polite! AND you should pit at some point, or at least go up and crowd surf. A good stage dive etc!
  157. FccRuinedAmerica andtheentireworld: Veil of maya by cynic
  158. Peste Noire is nightcore for nazis change my mind: You guys should see Iron Maiden live next year
  159. FreakStomp95: Mastodon- the Sparrow. Creature Lives

  162. ITMeCE: Hey uhm... Blue October.
  163. Grin Host: Damn, you guys is famous. Now do Coroner "Metamorphosis" or "Semtex Revolution."
  164. George Geo: Sad you didn't get a chance to appreciate Primus (they are way more talented and interesting IMO)
  165. Flasheur: oh man, i would love that puzzle i love puzzles and mastodon what a perfect combination D:
  166. Samyo: Glad you dudes enjoyed your dope concert experience! I think what Mike was getting at was Stereo vs Live? As opposed to Analogue. Analogue is what you hear on a vinyl record or cassette tape and was the original standard, digital is what you hear off of a cd or mp3 file. Hope that helps.
  167. Bat Man: Or check out some live performances you'll be amazed
  168. Ben *: You guys should react to some songs/jams from a live RHCP concert
  169. wawawawawiwa: Iron Swan
  170. Adam KamalSaraf: dannyoaks85 ASSpecially the video
  171. bluesguy63: Please do Marc Broussard-Home Soul for days
  172. JCR: Please do! Time - Pink Floyd
  173. Bryce Sause: React to war eternal by arch enemy
  174. Sean Mace: I'm glad you guys went and check out Mastodon! I got to see them on their Crack the Skye tour in 2009 with High on Fire and Metalocalypse, Mastodon definitely stood out. As a drummer I'm so jealous that you got to meet one of my big drum influences, Brann is definitely one of the greatest and most creative drummers around!
  175. spiderbaby420: it's usually better live....i can say that about lots of bands or songs
  176. Wretch Gunk: Venom Black Metal
  177. The Metal Pig: It sounds strange but I think being able to visually see the band can help with hearing some songs/parts more clearly than a muddier studio version.
  178. Zodd 3224: Ive seen Mastodon a couple times. They are much better live than on album. I dont really care for their music after Blood Mountain.
  179. mvunit3: PRIMUS SUCKS! PRIMUS SUCKS! PRIMUS SUCKS!
  180. The Death Twitch: I prefer lofi music. A lot is lost in digital, to me. I know everyone doesn't agree.
  181. Tom O'Brien: So, get a few more gigs under your belt and then let's get working on first stagedive
  182. Thrashifice: CAT DADDY
  183. holdthatthought1: Did Brann hook you up?
  184. Scott Bell: Check out Jaguar God
  185. Sycan Media: Curl of rhe Burl is their lost underrated song...a lot like steambreather but better
  186. David D'Arcy: Revisit the meaning of analogue.... nothing to do with stereo, it's analogue vs digital e.g. human vs computer
  187. Evan Lunak: please do upon these shores by psycroptic! you guys need some technical death metal. love the vids guys
  188. Philip B: Cat daddy
  189. Larry Bradford: Cat Daddy
  190. Dinos4urFour: Check out Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats - I See Through You
  191. rasputin018: Please reactor to Danzig - Mother!
  192. yyz: There's a video of Brann and Danny Carey jamming together on drums
  193. Flávio Faive: React to Mastodon - Chimes At Midnight and Show Yourself
  194. Adam Emmett: I was fortunate to catch Mastodon with Russian Circles and Eagles of Death Metal. They blew me away when they played "blade catcher" live.
  195. Slowbro: you say "oh hell no" to moshpits now...give yourself a few shows and you'll be in the middle of it lol!
  196. Jorge Cornejo: Guys, there are videos of live Mastodon concerts that showcase Brann's drumming, you just search, "brann dailor live" and they pop out, I highly recommend you one of those
  197. Raul giraldo: I hope they try the band "Thank You Scientist" next
  198. ChillDd00d: REVIEW BEHEMOTH THE SATANIST
  199. juntadj: is there any channel doing the opposite? a headbanger reacting to hip-hop and rap? I would like to appreciate hip-hop if the road is similar to this channel
  200. Nicholas Mercado: I'm excited for you guys LOL
  201. Adam Torres: I can't stress this enough for when you go to your next metal show, but PLEASE TAKE EARPLUGS!! You guys are well aware of how loud this music is, and metal shows are notorious for being loud. If you already took them, then cool. I'm glad you enjoyed the whole experience and I would love for you guys to enjoy more.
  202. John Mehew: Gojira live is a special thing
  203. Sekvensen: Mastodon is an amazing live act. Remember seeing them in 05 at Hultsfredsfestivalen and it blew me away. Never get over that you didn't like Oblivion though haha. Thanks for good video making work easier.
  204. jear: mastodon is the best live show i've seen, except maybe Judas Priest. EDIT: ALSO, back when you reacted to blood and thunder I KNEW steambreather would be one for yall lol
  205. Terrestrial Goldfish: PALLBEARER
  206. metal paco: Come to Chicago Open Air! 🤘
  207. jet fire: When you called blood mountain "black mountain" 😤
  208. Mika Vanonen: https://youtu.be/T-XPLG40vSA
  209. Parker Crook: MORE OPETH - THE MOOR, HARLEQUIN FOREST, WINDOWPANE, DEMON OF THE FALL, BLACKWATER PARK, SERENITY PAINTED DEATH, IN MY TIME OF NEED, HARVEST, THE GRAND CONJuration :)
  210. Tyler: PRIMUS SUCKS
  211. JJFan48: Y'all should react to some TLC!
  212. Adrian Daniel Botnariu: Analog and stereo? Yoo what the hell's up today?
  213. Seb Bri: Hey guys, I love what you do!
  214. Marcello Martello: You guys really need to catch Tool live.
  215. Mother Sloth: I heard about those bbqs they were putting on for this tour, sounds like it was exactly how I thought it would be :). Btw you guys really need to check out some dillinger escape plan. Id recommend farewell mona lisa.
  216. Douglas Seebergh: Metallica live!!!! It is a must......
  217. Ginny Stigma: Afrobatic was thinking the same damn thing
  218. TB 7788: react to Lights Out by Royal Blood
  219. KrimsonApoLLo: Haha, this is prettyawesome -- real shit.
  220. Johnny Roberts: Guys, you NEED to check out the drummer Cobus. Check out any of his covers, I guarantee you guys will love his style. My suggestion is his *NSYNC cover but you can't go wrong with any of his more recent videos. You'll be doing yourselves a favor, trust me.
  221. Taj Baber: Btw, thanks for promoting the long forgotten live experience in the digital age. 🤘
  222. Jake Edwards: Y’all should give Vince Staples FM! some love
  223. Nathan Baca: Kinda goes back to my previous point of Queens being more dynamic. They certainly have more pop influences but still carry the desert stoner vibes at times. IMO homme has just gotten more refined his song writing and for metal purists that means it's bad but for open minded listeners we can appreciate the evolution of his music.
  224. homersoddishe: I think part of the problem you have with Mastodon's studio sound is the lack of dynamic range. Dynamic range is the range between quiet sounds and loud sounds on a recording. Listen to Mr. Van Driessen explain how it's a bad thing. https://youtu.be/3Gmex_4hreQ
  225. Howeyroll: Its so funny to me hearing someone recommend mastodon live. Sometimes the vocals aren't really there. Anyway, go see Gojira live.
  226. Jake Anton: listen to dopesmoker
  227. Jay Lafey: I was there toi
  228. James Haskell: Also check out Show Yourself and The Motherload. Similar to Steam Breather in that they are less proggy.
  229. RedFox: I saw this same concert earlier this summer, Mastodon is one of my favorite shows Ive seen so far! If you can see Slayer on their last tour your should really give them another shot, I wasnt the biggest fan until I saw them live, and I now love almost everything I used to kind of think was overplayed, and have found a dozen new songs I love. They are now only touring overseas for the second leg, but you could use that patreon money! lol
  230. Derek Hoffman: Cat daddy
  231. 7Ghoste: Tool - The Grudge
  232. MetalAllDayAllNight: Pretty sure you can pay to see that, I think they take patreon requests
  233. Brandon Nichols: Motherload!
  234. mysterywhiteboy72: Glad Brann converted you guys. Primus and Mastodon are God Tier. This video makes me so happy! EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGCWTcBM4QI - a nice clip of Brann tracking drums for Steambreather, among other things.
  235. Jeff Novak: 687,000 subscribers, you're a little famous.
  236. Hen Lovell: A year ago I clicked on your Holy Wars vid, just thinking it was going to be funny watching two black dudes listening to some metal. You both are two of the most insightful, inspiring, intelligent guys I think I’ve ever known. I say known, because I feel we have a lot in common - freethinking mainly. I love how you read the lyrics, you’ve actually shed some light on lyrics I’ve known for years but never really understood. The Regulator being one. You’re awesome, please keep doing what you do. Peace. 🤘☠️🤘
  237. Barry Mitchell: Cool that u guys had a good time at ur first metal show. A few suggestions that u guys might like hope u guys enjoy them. SUICIDAL TENDENCIES -You cant bring me down (the video for this song is cool) - Which way to Free? MOONSPELL - Everything invaded - Crystal gazing - Night eternal - Extinct TIAMAT - The scarred people TYPE O NEGATIVE - Life is killing me D.R.I. - Manifest destiny - 5 year plan - Slumlord doesnt care NUCLEAR ASSAULT - Critical mass - Brainwashed SACRED REICH - The american way
  238. GrayEcho: OH SHIT YOU GUYS WERE THERE? I WAS THERE TOO! I WISH I COULD HAVE SAID HI I LOVE YOU GUYS!
  239. whomhead: It's fascinating seeing dudes primarily into another genre getting into something completely different, especially metal. It's totally awesome to see you guys experience the songs live then recorded. I know you're not really feeling Primus yet, but I think as you guys get deeper into this you'll really dig them. Anyways, awesome video guys, glad to see you had such a great time at this show. I was lucky enough to meet Brann on this tour, he was such a nice guy. Not at all surprised to see him hook you guys up like this.
  240. chinchu: best reaction channel
  241. MAKE OUT HILL: REACT TO ONE MINUTE BY XXXTENTACION AND KANYE
  242. Sohima Shah: The first time you heard them was at the concert? That’s so open minded and cool!
  243. Ryan W.: Most visually stimulating and just straight bad ass sounding concert I've ever experienced in my entire life....Rob Zombie. I've never seen a more bad ass live concert, and I've been to a lot of shows. Watching Mike Riggs pour "blood" out of his clear guitar on his head during Dragula, was something to behold.
  244. asylumdead: You guys hit on my biggest gripe with Mastodon. Love their music, hate their production.
  245. David McC: Come on fellas let's see you do a reaction to Soulfly... jump the fuk up.
  246. OpThomasPrime: Oh, and like I'd miss an opportunity to write Cat Daddy regardless if I'm out. #PapiGato
  247. Slayer 21: Mastodon - Stargasm
  248. Cameron Rosen: Ya’ll should listen to Exist by Avenged Sevenfold from their most recent album, The Stage. It’s quite a long song at 15 minutes, but it’s certainly a treat. Great atmosphere, grooves, and it’s just beautiful. There are also a few prog elements in it, but it’s certainly digestible for guys new to progressive metal. Edit: I’ve been watching you guys for a long time and just realized I hadn’t subscribed wow. Well, now i am. I love this channel.
  249. Andres Turco: I thought Ryan was like 6'3 man, now I know the truth! LOL
  250. Ismail S: They want it to sound sludgy. Sludge Metal is a term.
  251. Matthew Boik: The two guitar solos on Ember City are amazing
  252. ramiro argain: For me The Motherload is great track to begin with Mastodon
  253. Jack Gonzales: I actually think what you guys might not like about the “quality” is really the multiple layers Mastodon puts on all of their records. They use a lot of layered guitars with different effects, multiple vocal tracks and Brann often adds extra percussion beyond his drumming. I think you guys just enjoy the more pure sound of the core four instruments which would be much more prominent live.
  254. Aliyah Burnette: Do you guys like Florida Georgia line there doing there Vegas residency.
  255. Artur Nankran: you guys also need a better audio setup, some sounds are also lost on bad speakers
  256. Bradford Armstrong: Ya'll need to watch the metal documentary Sam Dunn did a while back about metal culture called "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey". It's almost a anthropological study of metal.
  257. Lee Thibidaux: +Rob Barrere yes there was I was in a band called FEID and we played a ton of shows there with these bands Abuse System Red Shaney Zane Crowbar Acid Bath Shroom Parrabellum Goatwhore Soilent Green Flood Gate Exhorder Graveyard Rodeo Icepick Revival Factor 8 Eye Hate God Hawg Jaw
  258. CN M: Y’all thought the person suggesting Primus was messing with y’all. What did you think of Primus live if you caught them?
  259. archenemy24: Late on this one, but that I know exactly what you guys are talking about. I didn't like Slayer, Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, or Overkill until I saw them live. It gives you a whole new respect for the bands and the more you see the more you'll start to "get" the music, especially the bands with more growls.
  260. Carson Grubaugh: Whoa. Cool experience and great review! Crazy because the recording to live sound clarity problem is usually reversed, glad you had such a great experience and with a band you had not been into. Zeal and Ardor absolutely SLAYED when I saw them in SF a month or so ago. Check out Row Row.
  261. Mikus Palmis: Cool video. Still waitin for you guys to do Volumes - The Mixture and Once Human - Gravity. !!! Oh, and Bad Wolves! Start with Officer Down or Learn To Live. Do the softer stuff later.
  262. WoPrulez: What a lineup!
  263. agentsteell: Le Bran James?
  264. Tim Long: Love you guys and thanks for all the free thinkers out there! Hey was wondering if you would review one of my favorite guitarist (Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders) real quick? This is the best live vid of him I could find performing (minus the band) please shout out! https://youtu.be/yV5WKvNZ_6g
  265. Maggai: Not sure what your music source and sound setup is, but Mastodon’s albums except for the first couple sounds excellent on cd, vinyl or high quality streaming with a nice d/a converter on a good stereo. With the guitar and bass sounds that Mastodon go for, a sound setup of lesser quality could definitely have issues getting the definition and clarity across. But anyway, awesome that you got to see them live! They’re fantastic!
  266. Jordan: 2nd concert I ever went to was Primus/Mastadon earlier this year.
  267. Jesse Garza: do behemoth - O father, o satan, o sun!
  268. Daniel Ramos: React to gojira l'enfant sauvage
  269. Papa Sears: pretty sure they said on a previous mastadon video that it wasnt going to make it in their album list =/ so now their cool with mastadon?
  270. Kiran Buzza: Master of Puppets full album shall be asked on every reaction until it happens...
  271. Adrian Daniel Botnariu: It's Brann, not Bron. LeBrann James maybe.
  272. Scott Cool: Cat Daddy
  273. BenBrokkoli: Is the giveaway open worldwide? And is it only for patrons?
  274. McBubbleslvl900: Any chance you guys'll do Jaguar God?
  275. Peter Scartabello: Listen to March of the Fire Ants! It’s earlier but great drumming!
  276. RaspiRoope: beepingbeej ok
  277. Linus Wärn: You need a better audio system
  278. Gameriffic: +Bobby Willingham LIMP BIZKIT Also I'm kidding.
  279. craig locicero: Analogue vs Digital. Not stereo. Brendan O'Brien is one of the best producers at capturing the live feel. He did it with STP as well. I love it.
  280. lordpest5150: https://youtu.be/Qns3Gb5O79I check this. Also, check Alan Cassidy of Black Dhalia Murder if you love drums. Both of these guys bring it.
  281. Jeramie Koval: Please react to whitechapel - brimstone
  282. matt reynolds: I seen mastodon with Alice in chains and Deftones. Alice in chains was the headliner
  283. The Abominable Snowman: CthulhuKittie it’s about Brann’s mother when she was in the hospital too, really deep stuff
  284. B D: >"analog vs stereo" 11:34 #triggered
  285. theLOUISIANIMAL1337: Yall need to check out Baroness I suggest Isaak from their Red album
  286. BBbacker511: 🔥🔥 Demon Hunter - Crucifix 🔥🔥 (metalcore)
  287. Chris Miller: Dethklok-laser cannon deth sentence!!!!!!!!
  288. Ed Bain: More skynrd
  289. Mihail Radev: you guys have to watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDHnME0LZ2w
  290. Edgetheripper 22: BREAK IT DOWN “logic” do it please
  291. Tyler: React to Tommy the Cat - Primus
  292. Matt B.: I met Brann on this tour when they came through KC, he just straight up came into the crowd and was talking with everyone. He's honestly the coolest dude
  293. Margaret Gardner: Y'all are constantly dragging the speaker you use for these reviews, but then turn around and complain that the recorded sound quality is worse than live... I am not saying you are wrong, but at least try listening on a good system first!
  294. oontur- mench: Keep going at it brothers!
  295. blacksabbath12: i think the issues you have with music sounding different with studio and live versions is because you are listening to music on a laptop speaker. put on a good set of headphones with an amp you ll hear all the detail there is
  296. Damien Delvallée: Oooooh yes, there's a nice heroic fantasy setup. And also a kaleidoscope! 👌
  297. Evan Davidson: I knew mastodon would wear you guys down....
  298. GWAILIN: Was just watching 'Counting Cars' (Vegas) and they did a sweet old boat of a caddy named 'Twinkle Toes' for Mastodon's drummer. Very cool on both fronts
  299. Matthew Romero: Legends - juiceworld
  300. Lajos Dixi Dioszegi: Cat Daddy
  301. Ant Kings: hell yea!!!
  302. we eating our breffiss dis mourning unfortunately: Mastodon always put on a phenomenal show. I've never seen Primus but would go to one of their shows in a heartbeat
  303. Ben Forman: I know this is a little old and a lot of people have commented already on the sound quality thing, but I just want to throw out there that ALL music sounds better live. There's a reason why people into metal are always going to shows. I've changed my opinion on so many bands cause I was able to see them live. It's like watching a movie on your TV at home vs going to the theater.
  304. Phillip Messer: Spit it out - Slipknot. I think you guys would enjoy that.
  305. Skilgannon the Damned: That is simply not true Jen :) a Tool concert is a real experience.
  306. Nathan Parry: Glad you guys eventually got to a concert. Now you need to get a metallica gig.
  307. mervunit: Job for a Cowboy - Tarnished Gluttony
  308. Rabble Rouser: TOOL conceet visuals and sound quality are top notch, but the fire and intensity has slipped and MJK doesn't risk his vocals anymore
  309. K L: very fortunate to meet the band, etc. glad it was a good experience for y'all. got to see them live once on the Hunter tour. great live band.
  310. John10781: Congratulations on your first metal show. Metal concerts have some of the friendliest and cool people. Hopefully the first of many!
  311. Hendrik Barentsen: Bagpipes plus metal. Can't imagine? Do a video!
  312. Chris Rojas: Aborted - Altro Inferno
  313. Drew Keenan: Tool - Parabol + Parabola ---- PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!
  314. Xavier Gutierrez: Plus on the motherload by mastadon you get the drummer singing most of the song, do it with the video, then hit me up
  315. Wot Wot: For something very different in both sound and theme but is still rock: Daybreak 's Bell - L'Arc~en~Ciel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNwQ37pZWiU Wow, when you reviewed Blood and Thunder and Oblivion, you were a no-go to Mastodon and now fans!
  316. SloWdaD ox: Dude u guys where there!!?!? I didnt see u guys.
  317. Rodrigo Cardoso: +OEMR Ok. That's your opinion... Just your opinion.😆
  318. Preston Pronovost: https://youtu.be/lj4cbYAWUqg
  319. TheDiidact: Just use headphones man
  320. Corey Chatelain: Mastodon is definitely one of the bands everyone should check out regardless of what genre of music you prefer. You gentlemen are correct that they are just simply fantastic live. I was lucky enough to see Gojira open up for Mastodon in Portland several years ago. Easily one of the best shows I've ever seen. Trombone Shorty is another artist everyone should check out live if they have the chance.
  321. Steven Puckitt: The Hunter is a bit less aggressive as well. All of their later albums have a few radio friendly tracks on them.
  322. Sean Clements: The Dillinger Escape Plan - When Good Dogs Bad Things
  323. Guillermo Garcia: Check this out! Brann Dailor and Danny Carey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDHnME0LZ2w
  324. kabukiman69: if you want to experience something different, go attend a Sunn O))) gig, just once. It's worth it
  325. Jordan Sullivan: What’s up guys! Awesome videos, long time watcher. Would love to see a reaction for Intronaut “Killing Birds With Stones”. Also ISIS “Wrists Of Kings”. If anything at least a listen, some of the strongest drummers in my opinion along with Danny Carey & Brann Dailor.
  326. Kratos isFunny: Yesss!!!
  327. Chris Butcher: I was at the Seattle gig. Hella funny y'all met them. One of my favorite bands.
  328. Alleyezonjimz: love what you doing
  329. AwesomeAvery: I went to the primus/mastodon show earlier this year in missoula! It was ducking awesome and I moshed so hard to both sets, I’m a huge fan of you guys and what you do keep it up 🤙
  330. Kevin Newsham: Stereo vs mono is where i think you were going. Analog vs digital is the other.
  331. Rodolfo Baggio: Iced Earth - Melancholy !!
  332. sirefromtheshire: I have never listened to a Mastodon album and thought the production was bad. Even Remission sounds massive and raw and is meant to be that way.
  333. I.T. L.: I think you guys need to listen to a digital copy of their songs because listening to compressed Youtube versions don't do justice to the studio versions (as far as them sounding "muddy" to you all). Also, wear headphones or listen to it in a car studio, and you will hear all the nuances that you think are missing.
  334. Dai Williams: Knights of Cydonia , Muse live at Wembley & Motorcycle Emptiness by Manic Street Preachers - Do them guys !
  335. Zak Amos: Boys I love that you guys visit the goats but with artists like Eminem I thought it’d be cool to show off the other side to him which is his storytelling, not the classics like Stan but something more less know like “Mockingbird”, “Going Through Changes” or even the song he did with Jay “Renegade”
  336. Chris Pettingill: So what did you think about Primus? I really hope you guys get around to listing to "Tommy the Cat" or "Jerry was a Racecar Driver" off "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" Les Claypool is probably the baddest bass player alive in Metal music... It would be a close one between Les Claypool and Cliff Burton, And Go........ lol because I know I'm going to get some feedback on that statement.
  337. Joel Martinsson: You goddamn lucky bastards. Two of my absolute favorite bands and I've never gotten the pleasure of seeing them live at all, let alone together. On the subject of you guys not liking the mastering (which I could understand), try changing it a bit with an equalizer. Not the best solution I know but upping the mid/high range a bit helps make their music clearer. Also there are youtube videos of Brann drumming so check that out.
  338. CashWiley: I TOL YOU SO MANY TIMES TO REACT TO EMBER CITY lol
  339. Mark Chappell: Ghost
  340. chewybang: I love you guys. That's all. Keep them videos coming.
  341. mephys69: Soen - Martyrs !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh92nGMaEVg
  342. Ken Jo: High end analog sounds much better than digital any day. Also, most music on YouTube has very poor audio quality.
  343. Nikki SaintVictor: Finally! I know I suggested and probably many others that you should go to a metal concet...thanks for your reactions!
  344. Pat Swett: Mechanical Illusion by Amaranthe please!!! Been waiting months and months!!!!!!!
  345. lcaccav2: I snuck on stage at Ozzfest 2005 in Chicago and stood about 10 feet from Brann. He’s a machine!
  346. Greg Jones: This Steambreather song almost reminds me of Captain Beyond from the early 70s.
  347. John Liedl: I think what you meant when you were talking about the production quality was the difference between analog and digital (not stereo). But you made a little mistake. You see CD's are actually compressed versions of the original recordings, they are not lossless. Analog is actually the better way to go if you want to get closer to the intended sound of the artist. Vinyl, in my opinion, when played on a quality system, sounds better than CD's. If you want the highest quality digital recordings, you have to get the .FLAC file version. Also, not sure what service you're using to listen to music, but streaming music is definitely not going to give you the best sound. Anyway, love the channel, keep up the good work! Also, You should do a full TOOL album review!
  348. Evan Davidson: Oh shit...love this
  349. scullzomben: Oh hey ... look ... you guys enjoying Post 2010 Mastodon. Like so many said you would. But so many trolls and metal elitists think Mastodon stopped existing after Crack The Skye. Sometimes your popularity polls really lead you astray.
  350. amjan: Dream Theater LIVE? Huh.
  351. Lazy A-Hole Ranch: I’m so glad you got to go to a show and it sounds like you had a freaking amazing time! ❤️❤️ I have seen them live once and was super impressed.
  352. Dylan Underwood: Mastodon - Crack the Skye
  353. Thrator: Nightwish: Ghost Love Score live 2013!!!
  354. Jerod Higgins: I agree. I have never been a huge Mastadon fan, but they were easily one of the best live bands I've ever seen. I think you just have to feel it to really appreciate it.
  355. Tom: Their latest record Emperor of Sand is out of this world. Should react to Jaguar God from that record
  356. Lauchie Maddaleni: Black Sabbath - N.I.B
  357. Rob Barrere: Lee Thibidaux that’s awesome, man...Acid Bath were amazing...and eyehategod still crush it
  358. Bloodhound: Cat daddy
  359. Angie Furgason: I'm literally so happy right now....metal fans in the making!!!! Huge smile
  360. thecrazynoemad: and the reason why you think certain instruments aren’t showcased enough in the album recordings, is because it’s not that big a deal to these musicians. You’re realizing how amazing they are musically, but that’s just status quo for them.
  361. Dennis Kirkegaard Jensen: Some metal drum cam reactions would be super dope.
  362. Palindromeda 33: You guys should check out Baroness - Morningstar. You’ll dig it.
  363. MrJumboblimpjumbo: +n4rf you hit the nail on the head. Most of their music is overcompressed in my opinion. Quiet moments are the same volume as loud ones and it sounds like their guitars are very layered on record, obviously not the case in a live situation. Loudness data: http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/list?artist=mastodon&album=
  364. Karen Royle: Primus Sucks! you guys lost it
  365. J Plan: +Daniel Strattonbury they are called down beats
  366. Scott Bradley: Primus - laquer head or to defy the laws of tradition
  367. amaan huq: Oh man I wish you guys were doing this when Mastodon and Gojira toured together a few years ago.... EPIC shows and I'm a fan of both for life now
  368. Metal Head666: When was the show?
  369. Mindcrime80: go to see Iron Maiden in 2019 , they're coming to America.saw them in july( 11th time), not in their prime anymore but they still deliver!and very good setlist
  370. Zombie Dee: React to some more FLATBUSH ZOMBIES we need that 😤😤😤
  371. Charles Murphy: Why no primus les clay pool is one of the greatest bass players ever.seen him and primus many times .one of the best live band
  372. Alex Walters: We've been telling to to do steambreather and motherload :(
  373. The Abominable Snowman: Good to see you guys are finally on board with the ‘Don
  374. Scoss Tard: Check you absolutely need to react to Hacride - Overcome! The more I hear you talking about Metal and what you appreciate in a metal band, I am sure you would enjoy this song! Or then react to the band Leprous Or to Igorrr for something 100% original
  375. Cronos of Venom: Glad you guys had fun. Go see KISS!!!!
  376. wentropy: Now maybe you’ll do Primus’s Too Many Puppies 🎸
  377. AndyBraz: I'm so glad you guys were able to enjoy some music, especially from a band you guys weren't into it, I think that reactions are awesome but if you really wanna understand a band's sound and their music you need more than 2 songs and going to a concert is one of them. Now I wanted to know if you guys enjoy a bit "Blood & Thunder" since it was probably the last song...
  378. Shahaaim: Can't wait for you guys to go to a Gojira concert and make a review video of it! Haha!
  379. Mike Wright: How do i try to win these items?
  380. ManchGuy22: A Martian Winter - Angel Vivaldi Live Again - Silent Civilian Be Quiet and Drive - Deftones
  381. craig locicero: Brann is one of a kind. Amazing person and musician. Love that guy. Love Mastodon.
  382. Jonas Johansson: Look at Glenn monturys MD drum covers to see Branns work. And always use headset the first hundred times you listen to a new Mastodon song!🤟
  383. Danny P KNT/33/HB: Wasn't expecting this, nice one guys ! ✌ 2 of my fav! Primus e Mastadon 🎧
  384. cliff sharp: I'm so happy to see you guys experiencing Mastodon the way Metal fans who've listened to them for years do!!!
  385. Tim Smith: Drummers singing are always amazing to me.
  386. Josh Kim: Cat daddy
  387. Saint Echo: I saw Mastodon play on a gig I called "The Perfect Concert"... The reason I call it "The Perfect Concert" is because they were the opening act for a little band you might have heard of...... Metallica
  388. emilolsson91: Great video as always guys! It's so much fun watching people getting introduced to the more humble and kind side of the metal scene, which I think people who watch the scene from the outside doesn't see. I've been to quite a lot of metal concerts and I still get surprised with the caring and open view from the fans and most of the bands! Much love from Sweden!
  389. Lachlan Barnes: Watching from Melbourne, Australia. Keep up the good work gentlemen you have created a fantastic channel and it’s so f***in’ cool to see your reactions to some of my favourite music. You guys should do a segment where you give a grass roots, up and coming sort of band a listen! Here’s a little taste of some underground Melbourne metal - https://youtu.be/FsBjPLYhRSo
  390. Daniel Stewart: you need to listen to a proper version of the songs (spotify, cd) with good headphones or better speakers
  391. Ivan Zonta: Corroborate your claim with credible evidence right now, Cleveland
  392. Ezekiel Rodriguez: Bronn lol. Bran
  393. TorrMup: Primus >>> Mastadon... unfortunate you guys didn't really listen to them. Would pay to see reaction video of Primus - Antipop
  394. Prince Afrika: I second this
  395. Jerred Waits: Yooo! Check out trapp Tarell’s 6ix9ine disses part one and two! It’s crazy!
  396. CJ Dickey: Make it the Rocklahoma or M3 Festival. 3 days of straight up RIP N TEAR.
  397. Jeff A. Taylor: Two great live bands. Gotta catch Gojira next.
  398. Tallyca Hamulhetru: Metallica was in Vegas last week on November 26th. I hear it was an excellent show. Great crowd participation. The boys were on fire! Metallica > Mastadon
  399. Alan B: Love that you guys are digging mastodon!
  400. Marcus Brown: P.S Ember City is one of my favorite Mastodon songs. Brent Hinds; their lead guitarist is a genius!
  401. Rafael Rosales: So you guys dont do mastodon forever...then goto their show. You guys made my day. If you guys didnt do oblivion i would have never gave them a second chance. Now theyre my favorite band
  402. joonas h: I'm not the biggest fan of Mastodon but I have seen em live and listened to them on spotify couple of times. Seriously, They do not have shitty production and I have never thought about that. Here's what you do wrong:1. Never listen to stuff on youtube, use spotify 2. Use decent headphones (like at least 200$) or decent speakers and amplifier. (But the main issue is that you listen to stuff on youtube, it's just flat and plastic sounding)
  403. David Bright: Mastodon opened for Gojira last time i saw them and man it still rates as, apart from Tool Lateralus tour, the best gig ive experienced 🙌🏼 and Gojira ALMOST played clean up after Mastodon they were THAT good...😍
  404. Moon Gazer: Primus - Wynona's Big Brawn Beaver
  405. Michael Radelet: I knew you'd find some songs from mastodon you'd love. I can sleep at night now.
  406. Matt Solar: I'm so glad you guys gave Mastodon another chance. I was just like you before. My first experience was Blood & Thunder and I just didn't get it. It took a few songs before it finally clicked for me. The tracks Sea Beast & The Wolf Is Loose were the songs that really opened my eyes to what Mastodon was about.
  407. beepingbeej: I have never heard of mastodon
  408. newhatenow: blood mountain
  409. Zachary Stemple: I really want you guys to react to Gorod - Aethra.
  410. luke666808g: I re-listened to a bunch of their stuff thinking 'those guys most be on crack Mastodon sounds great on CD' but, now I can see their point, in a lot of metal production the bass occupies the same space as the drums so there isn't a clear separation and some clarity is lost in the mix, maybe metal producers will change their approach a little if there's gonna be new listeners to the genre who have different expectations about how things should sound.
  411. Andy Fox: Steven Wilson - the raven that refused to sing Porcupine tree - the sound of Muzak Dream theater - Blind Faith
  412. Dalton McKinney: Oh Steambreather. A song I suggested. Go figure.
  413. Norm Schneider: Down - Stone The Crow
  414. Scott Bradley: John the fisherman they should review
  415. Hendrik Barentsen: So my favourite concert was definitely Eluveitie, I didn't know the band, then 9 members come on stage with a bunch of weird instruments. It was absolutely amazing. Give Folk Metal a try! Eluveitie - Inis Mona (you will not regret this)
  416. Daniel Miranda: Glad you guys liked these two songs..... but you need to journey more into mastodon! Omrts and blood mountain! Lets go lost in vegas!
  417. APAL880: YES. here's the link George and Ryan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDsMLM-pkTY
  418. Waldoz53: I loved Mastodon live the first time I saw them a few years back. I wanted to go again, but they cancelled part of their tour here after their friend and manager passed away (and definitely a good reason to cancel that tour). I'd LOVE to see them again soon, and I'd LOVE to hear Steambreather live since you guys loved it live too, and I haven't been since their new album On appreciating Mastodon more live, I kinda hated Once More Round the Sun the first time I hear it through a shitty youtube stream. Then I heard it live and it blew me away, and re-listening to the album sounded far far better.
  419. MawcDrums: +Mitt Namn Well thought out criticism, care to elaborate?
  420. jamatheo: I'd ease them in with "Motherload" first, but "March..." is obligatory. That's the song that made Mastodon back in the early days.
  421. Shana Ekin: I saw this concert at the Wiltern when Primus and Mastodon were playing! I had never listened to Mastodon before and HOLY SHIT did they blow me away! Such talent! And you’re right about Brann, that guy has mad skills! I have four of their albums and listen to them all the time. Everyone in that band is crazy talented but, percussions have a special place in my heart. I’m in awe of Brann. I’m sorry you missed Primus. Those guys are incredible live! Tim Alexander (Primus drummer) is another solid talent 😝🤘🏻
  422. CthulhuKittie: Ember City is one of my most FAVORITE songs by Mastodon and it makes my heart SO HAPPY to hear that you guys enjoyed it - I teared up a little bit, not gonna lie - I love that song *that* much. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed their show. I've seen them twice and did VIP both times and they are the nicest people I've ever met. Just great, great guys. I *will* say I prefer to listen to Mastodon with headphones. I can hear all the things you can't hear otherwise - the details, as Ryan said. Eta: dammit, I was late on the giveaway, but I gotta find that puzzle omg 😍😍
  423. Sockfoot: It's now October??? We need to get you guys a webmaster.
  424. carledritten: Toe to Toes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDjKC_DjsWo
  425. Raoul Duke: wentropy it doesn’t have the same groove that many of the songs on that album do.
  426. james gribble: This review is great good to see you appreciate Mastodon! Also Dire Staits - Sultans of Swing
  427. Nate G: The experience is always different. There are bands I love recorded but hate live. And there are bands I hate recorded but love live.
  428. Tyler Stover: In terms of prog metal bands. You guys gotta check out The Contortionist, especially the song, Language 1 and 2. If not both then 1 is just fine. Just pleaee check them out
  429. Reeroy Life: Cat daddy is asleep in the deep. Check the video, my dudes.
  430. MawcDrums: +Mitt Namn Cool! Have a good one then :)
  431. Rhett Anderson: Brann Dailor is the best drummer in music in my opinion. You guys are super lucky I idolize that band
  432. Sou Foda!: Please React to Epica -monopoly on truth (live retrospect)
  433. Paul Leach: 11:00 - That's modern day mastering for ya. Some modern recordings are mastered better than others, but the trend (ever since the mid '90s) has been to compress the shit out of the finished recordings to simply get them as loud as possible (Google "loudness wars" some time). I have all the Mastodon CDs and they definitely suffer from being too compressed, which leads to the substandard results George is talking about. I guarantee you the Mastodon master tapes/files all sound incredible. Do yourselves a favor and pick up the Mastodon vinyls (since vinyls cannot be mastered as loud they often sound better in these cases). There are other modern recordings that aren't as compressed and sound better. If George thinks Gojira sounds better then it's probably because those CDs were mastered better (less compressed). Massive compression leads to clipping and unpleasant distortion btw, which I assume is what George is hearing that he doesn't like.
  434. Sergio Murillo: Ahahahaha. I remember you guys posting pics with em, anyway rad!
  435. Master Bateson: Damn it fellas... Watch the Mastodon song Motherload video!!!!!!!!! :)
  436. Michael Motter: So glad yall had a great time! It's a great community metal has!
  437. Michael Dee: Metal is always better live! Next time you get the chance, jump in the pit. It’s as welcoming as what you guys are talking about (easy rules - no elbows, kicks, punches). Need to respect everyone else and they’ll return it. Metal Rules!
  438. Dave Thomson: Primus Sucks!
  439. 1uckywanderboy: Mgła "Exercises in futility VI" live 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yguSkVd2rk
  440. Osher A: Bring me the Horizon - Visions
  441. WickedTSW: Billy Talent - Hanging by a thread
  442. Matt Glover: Glad you guys had a dope time, I saw Mastodon last year and I'm seeing them again in January, I spent years loving their studio stuff so you can imagine my love live, I'd like to see what you guys think of some Avantgarde metal though, some of my favourites being Don't You Dare- Zeal and Ardor Via Loa Vegas- Troldhaugen Justice for Saint Mary- Diablo Swing Orchestra
  443. killermetal10: The concert was in July, The video was recorded in October, and it was finally posted in December!
  444. aerozeppelin35: Primus - Fish On
  445. Abhijeet Singh: Plz do A Fair Judgement by OPETH..... PLZZZ!!
  446. Nicole Gibson: Last time I saw Mastadon, it was with Clutch. Last time I saw Primus, it was with Clutch....well Clutch, Nin, Living Colour and Suicidal Tendencies at River City Rockfest. Saw Primus with Tool before too and a few times way back in the late 90s and 2000s. Still enjoy them but those old shows were much better
  447. John10781: Welcome to the family
  448. Chris Butcher: Also if someone hasn't mentioned yet primus does the theme songs to South Park and Robot chicken
  449. Metalhead Joe: Can we crowd fund a GoPro for you guys in exchange for a mosh pit reaction?? 😂 But glad you had a good time!
  450. Adam Stone-Dare: Y'all didn't pay much attention to Primus? That's nuts! Best bassists in the game.
  451. Sploop Shoop: I'm so glad you guys enjoyed Mastodon! I first got into them when their album "The Hunter" came out, and that album felt like a religious awaken for a young kid just getting into metal. If you dudes see this comment, I really hope you check out a band called The Sword! They are kind of a mix between some modern metal, and a bit of a throwback as well.
  452. Just Liz: Yes! Your first rock concert‼️ so glad you liked it. Next,Gojira🤘🤘
  453. Whytheguy 37: I saw them at the fox theatre in Atlanta with my dad and it was amazing. Also where I found Russian Circles which is another fire ass band. Thanks for the reviews. Also I would be remiss if I didn’t ask The Contortionist - Language Parts 1 & 2 please. Keep up the good work guys.
  454. Papa Sears: Toxic Garbage Island and Esoteric Surgery yummmmmmm
  455. Danny Romeo: If you guys are looking for an excellent show, in Reno on February 26th, Between The Buried and Me, TesseracT, and Astronoid are playing at the Cargo Concert Hall at the Whitney Peak Hotel. Seen all three bands already, they are unbelievably great and showcase the best sides of the versatile genre of metal.
  456. Smokebecomesaflame Flamebecomesafire: +B1G R3D xD What a guy
  457. Daniel Miranda: Crystal clear mastodon started in blood mountain wich you guys havent reviews yet btw my fave mastodon album
  458. Boondockninja: Now that you’ve got a taste of primus you guys gotta do a reaction to them!
  459. Clinton Gross: I saw this tour in Oklahoma City at The Criterion! Mastodon being my favorite band!!
  460. Nathan Brown: Find some 75-77 Lynyrd Skynyrd for some great live performances
  461. Joshua Cannon: TOOL is a must see show. Anything else is subpar.
  462. Preston Pronovost: Please watch the making of The Emperor of Sand documentary! It’s on YouTube!
  463. Sophie K: I also prefer to listen to metal live... It's just a whole other experience like you said, love the energy and loudness. Although the music I listen to nowadays is more varied, I still try to go to a few metal concerts every year. I need my fix xD
  464. Shahns: Severed. L.D. 50 son!
  465. SkullkidA7X: Please react to show yourself by Mastodon.
  466. DaGreatpickle: lol did anyone else hear him call blood mountain black mountain
  467. MartinSynan: Glad you guys had a great time at the gig! Hope to see you do more reactions/reviews to live shows, it's a cool place to take the channel, same with the recent reaction to the full album you done recently! BUT.... I need you guys to do a few reactions to The Dillinger Escape Plan, PLEASE! I've been asking for over a year now, and I will not stop until you do!
  468. Jeremy Lacuna: I love that tingling feeling you get when you hear a song on album for the 1st time as all the memories of the concert itself come flooding back. Never get tired of that feeling
  469. Matthew Marting: Come to think of it, I didn’t like Mastodon until I saw them live either. Makes me happy that your first metal concert was amazing.
  470. Dennis D. West: You are famous for good reason. You absolutely deserve it. Thanks for the music.
  471. Shane Smith: Been saying this for a while
  472. All Things Prog: That something "covering" Brann's drumming are your speakers. I'm sorry to say, but you cannot listen to extreme forms of metal on some computer speakers. Cut off frequency on such small/cheap speakers are designed very poorly. So you miss out on a lot of musical details in the mid and low frequency range (which is where most of Mastodon's sound lies. That's why Mastodon sounds so bad on your speakers. Listen to Mastodon's studio recordings on quality bookshelf speakers/monitor headphones and you'll see the difference). The speakers used in a live setting are obviously very different. You get to hear the real deal there. But you cannot compare them to computer speakers! Come on..
  473. Scott Trosky: It's awesome that you guys went to see them! I was really surprised by the song choices that were reviewed prior to this. I feel like there is some more catchy/ introductory songs that would be better suited for a reaction video, Steambreather and Ember City being two great choices! Another great choice (in my opinion) is Black Tongue from the "The Hunter" album. Great work guys!
  474. nick: Imo when you listen to a simpler, in your face, song..metal or any genre.. speakers handle the mix better. Whether high or low end crap speakers, it sounds good. When you have a busy mix with a lot going on, atmosphere etc. You simply need better speakers and a high quality version of the song or album to hear the full spectrum. To me, mastadon requires a nice set of speakers or it can indeed so uh ne muffled. It's well produced and mastered but these are busy productions.
  475. Michael Aguirre: Brann doin Capillarian Crest on live playthrough https://youtu.be/Qns3Gb5O79I
  476. TylerPresents MITCH: When the Pawn... is also my favorite. If we're being real here Fiona doesn't really disappoint in general.
  477. Gage Cline: This made me so happy I didn't expect you to watch them live after your other reviews of their music. So glad you're still down with the culture! Y'all are so awesome!
  478. Swindle Visuals: Mastadon and Primus aren't even close to being similar. Stop these late reaction videos.
  479. david thom: Brann is my drummer inspiration! He's amazing
  480. Dediguise 001: You guys have to go to a Tool Show. Also review Vicarious
  481. Tim Evoy: get into that pit! Mastodon - Toe to Toes [In-Studio Performance] is so good
  482. A box of Soap: Could y'all do Northern Fires (Guernica) by Silent Planet? Combines some incredible lyrics and flow with some crushingly heavy riffage :)
  483. Davisiim Davisiim: I know it's a hunormous left hook from these wonderful fellows, but I'd love to see them react to role-playing Dungeons and Dragons (with an experienced crew, like Critical Role, which would have great crossover opportunities for both audiences of both YouTube shows and channels)
  484. Charles Steibe: Saw them play in Baltimore. Mastodon tore it up and Primus was awesome.
  485. Junior McDaniel: Cat Daddy there I wrote that shit lol its out there forever now lol
  486. Scott Bradley: What if Christmas didn't come this year
  487. Martin Graham: I've genuinely tried to listen to Mastodon multiple times over the last 10 years and just cannot get into them. Talented guys, but something just doesn't click with me. I have no idea what it is or what is turning me off.
  488. GRUESOME CTHULHU: One of my favorite bands of all time! So glad you guys got to see them live they put on an amazing show. Hope you guys get to some more shows. Peace and love. Thanks for the continued awesome content!
  489. big hoss: You guys really wanna enjoy these 2 bands, smoke one..🤯
  490. Lukas Davis: Get better speakers.
  491. 5retsam: Listen to Mastodon with headphones on. Or better speaker setup.
  492. Rodrigo Astorga: Yeah the "muffled" feel is just a part of the sludge genre, that's just how it is. Heavy guitars, thick tones, super loud, ect.
  493. APAL880: maybe just decent speakers. they should get klipsch promedia 2.1 computer speakers.
  494. Ayeew Tasko: Tool - The Grudge!
  495. Tama Drummer: Analogue to Digital, not stereo, as a lol of analogue is in stereo not mono. I don't find Mastodon muffled as all
  496. Mikey D: SLAYER-ANGEL OF DEATH!!!!!!
  497. Morchella: Tool Rosetta Stoned live.....The bass and drums are something the album recording just can't capture...Know just how y'all feel!
  498. tapthewall: So, uh guys, Iron Maiden is coming to mgm arena sometime in September.
  499. MJNation: Nice to hear that you had a good time. Keep up the good work guys.
  500. Sarah L: I've been leaving comments for you to check out Primus, little did I know you had already seen them. They are worth a reaction video though imo. I'd suggest Puddingtime. Love your videos!
  501. Tony Glock: I prefer older Mastodon when they were on Relapse Records and were much heavier now they are just too mainstream sounding to me.
  502. JCORE01 jjaastad32: Buried Alive - Avenged Sevenfold
  503. toby 333: Mastodon, not really Heavy Metal and Primus sure aint.Pretty sure they'd say the same thing.
  504. Alejandro Mujica: You guys are awesome! Chillest channel on YouTube.
  505. DctKimble: Emperor of Sand is a solid album! Would 100! Recommend it. Solid riffs and stunning vocals
  506. bassfunkmaster85: You all need to hear Primus "To defy the laws of tradition"
  507. Din _: My favourite song from each of Mastodon album; Remission - Trilobite Leviathan - Megalodon Blood Mountain - Circle of Cysquatch Crack the Skye - The Czar The Hunter - All the Heavy Lifting Once More 'Round the Sun - Tread Lightly Emperor of Sand - Word to the Wise Cold Dark Place - Blue Walsh Call of the Mastodon - Battle at Sea
  508. ixnay099 x: Glad you guys had fun. That's what it's all about. You'll find that the rock and metal community is very down to earth. We appreciate what you guys do.
  509. Justin: Need to check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qns3Gb5O79I if you want to see Brann drum his ass off.
  510. Colin Gauvin: Glad you guys had a great experience at your first metal show. Mastodon is great live but I can’t wait to get your thoughts after seeing Gojira for the first time. They’re a trip.
  511. Sean Schelin: Cat Daddddy ! Lovely that you enjoyed Mastodon live!
  512. Ru: You really have to buy a pair of headphones! Mastodon need to be heard at highest quality possible. If you want to FEEL a band, you need to see Meshuggah live. It's like getting punched in the brain for one hour. 😂
  513. Chris Ross: Saw Mastodon and Primus in Austin this year. Awesome show. Braun is the real deal. A fan of his fans.
  514. spaztic4: If you wanna see him truly drum you should watch him play Capillarian Crest live
  515. El Pony Alfaro: Did primus do John the fisherman????
  516. Eddie Cheeseburger: Go to a black metal concert. It will shake your reality
  517. James Cartlidge: Nessun dorma sung by Luciano Pavarotti
  518. Lar Bowler: You beat me to it Kevin. As soon as I heard that comment about Analog v Stereo I was like...”eh nooooope” These guys need to get a good stereo system and a turn table, then they will hear drums and bass properly “the way the artist intended!”
  519. Flávio Giannini: Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley
  520. Matt Morbid: I'm glad you guys took the plunge... metal scares ppl away because people think that it's just for freaks...when in truth music despite the "label" is for everyone
  521. Dyton Edwards: this is the perfect segway into Primus reactions😁
  522. s0rd3z: Nice vid, real cool. Live music is always more of an experience and will stick with you.
  523. Gonzalo Prado: Glad you reconsidered mastodon, such a great band
  524. Stephen Armourae: Hey guys did Mastodon do 'Blood and Thunder'?
  525. Big Ice: That was strange and unexpected, i've been waiting for them for ages to do another Mastodon song, they didn't even like Oblivion as much as i thought they would like it. I thought Gojira would be their first metal concert experience. Now you guys have to react to the whole Crack the Skye album, the best album of all time.
  526. Raoul Duke: Primus- To Defy the Laws of Tradition
  527. dvourmusik: That's so awesome, you guys are killing it
  528. Austin Nichols: So glad you guys caught primus, ive seen them 4 times, they are incredible live!!
  529. Daniel Miranda: Mastodo (my fav band) are from georgia i live in florida and they dont tour down here...... you guys are soooooo lucky to meet mastodon im so jealous! I will def buy a ticket to see em in georgia
  530. Noah Cooper: Beautiful stuff, I love Mastadon, just got into them last year. Brann always tries to do interact with and do things for fans, really cool guy.
  531. SweetcheeksMcGee: Yes yes yes yes, I've been wanting them to review Qotsa for ages
  532. Illini skies Chicago: You guys seriously need a system that handles the tones from rock and metal. From the viewer(me) your sound sucks a hole. Mastodon doesn’t sound like that on my shit. Go get a record from The SWORD.
  533. Michael N: Missed Primus??? Missed OUT!
  534. Lord Lordington of Awesomeshire: Mastodon sucks.
  535. Christopher Combs: I knew you would vome around to Mastodon i knew it
  536. videolover0198: New Eminem freestyle
  537. convulsant: glad you enjoyed your first metal show, and glad to hear the guys from Mastodon are as sweet as they seem. i've met Primus and they're chill dudes too. metal shows are definitely an experience, and the community around them is for the most part pretty welcoming and cool.
  538. Justin Doll: I was at this show. Primus killed!
  539. OEMR: +Dan Sterling oh trust me , I will
  540. Sadie Bulldogs: I feel the same way about Pink Floyd they sound great on recording but OMG live they sound freaking incredible out of this world. That's how you know a band is really good when they sound better live than they do in the studio.
  541. Danny Smith: February 5, 2018-oblivion; Review! Lost in Vegas. We told you listen to them live! Now you happy 😂
  542. Adam Schulte: Manowar was the loudest I’ve been to. At one time, they held the world record for loudest live performance. Unfortunately I have a hard time listening to them since the disgusting charges against the guitarist came out.
  543. Mark Sage: That's strange to me. In my experience, usually the studio version Album is the best sound. If a band's live preformance was as good as the Album...that was awesome!! Not the other way around.
  544. Anthony Davis: I was at this show in downtown Las Vegas. It was the 5th time I’ve seen Mastodon live. They always exceed expectations when they play live. I’m glad you guys got to experience them in their truest form.
  545. Robert Valcic: guys you are great and thank you to make me discover Mastodon. They are amazing!
  546. hiro111: It's funny how many other channels try to copy you but just can't. Keep it up. Listen to "The Last Baron", the last track on "Crack the Skye".
  547. mike last name: Hey, look at that I figured it out! Great jazz fusuon https://youtu.be/JDHnME0LZ2w
  548. Ricky Padot: check out Toe to Toes! Mastodon rocks!
  549. Joe Yuzwa: Nah, Aquarius or Pareidolia
  550. damnbacon88: Dude, I've met Brann several times and he is an absolute A+ guy. Doesn't surprise me at all that he hooked y'all up. Glad you guys had fun!
  551. ironcaua: The cockroach king YESSSSSS
  552. Kyle Fisher: Couldn't disagree more in regards to Mastodons productions.
  553. Jordan Mayer: I'd kill for that treatment! A metalheads dream.
  554. Guy Laub: Mastodon is one of my favorite bands of all time and I love Primus as well, which I could catch that show. However, it's a shame you missed most of Primus' show cause I think you will like their stuff way more than you like Mastodon. They have thoose funky and groovy riffs mostly based on Bass guitar that I'm sure you'll dig. I would recommend: Wynona's Big Brown Beaver or Tommy the Cat cause besides being great songs they have great video clips as well (like most of Primus' videos) :) Love the channel, keep on rocking \m/
  555. Tammy Perritt: Love you guys ❤️ This channel is awesome
  556. Michael Carver: Uh you said James Murry?? OK there's no way that's the same James Murry that I'm thinking of...
  557. Ivan Campos: This was great. I'm fairly new to Mastodon and haven't seen them live yet. This makes me look forward to it!
  558. Roberto Pérez Favela: I saw Primus and Tool in Cumbre Tajin (México) aside from Steven Wilson it was the best audio expirence I ever had.
  559. Glue Guns & Roses: +John10781 thanks friend ❤
  560. jesse Saywhat: Then we need more Mastodon reaction
  561. Dan Day: Now you guys need to get to a festival. Gojira will be at the one in Columbus Ohio with meshuggah and system of a down. You guys should check it out.
  562. EDK ReefMeister: cat daddy? :P
  563. TonyHancock: I rarely comment, but I've been following you guys since you were basically "nobodies", and I think it's amazing that your channel has grown to the point that bands I idolize are inviting you to their shows. You both totally deserve it, too. I can't stand the fad reaction culture on youtube, but you guys put a really refreshing twist on it. That's why I keep coming back. You react, analyze, criticize, and review all in the same video, AND you are great at weeding out the real artists from the bullshit, regardless of the genre. Keep doing what you're doing. Also, Pearl Jam - Do the Evolution :)
  564. mdd47: also, to me, Mastodon is the Led Zeppelin of their generation
  565. Hunter Mauk: So happy for you guys! This is one of the most wholesome videos I have watched this week.
  566. Keith Kinkade: Mastodon rocks!!! So happy you guys got to see them !!!
  567. Karl Hungus: Use headphones!
  568. As: If you want to get out of usa borders. https://youtu.be/nfB6U0yPGiI An Israeli rapper named Ron Nesher / Skydamc in provocative Freestyle
  569. Chris Berry: Saw this tour also....it was fantastic!!!
  570. Vishal Kanda: Catdaddy
  571. Necronaut1000: I feel like this is what all your fans have been waiting for. Much love 💗
  572. ssmith87: I’ve met the guys in mastodon before they are so nice and Brann will chat you up forever..not surprised you both had a great experience. I saw this show when it came through Pittsburgh and i was a little disappointed with Primus, they played too much from their new album which i do not like. The only mastodon album i think suffers a bit production wise is Leviathan.
  573. Glue Guns & Roses: ❤❤❤ yall are awesome. Not a heavy metal fan YET.... but I may be there soon thanks to yall
  574. Carefree CFC: spykp The ABBA rip off from ”The Moor” just ruins the song for me.
  575. The Darien Lux: Super stoked for you guys and super jealous.
  576. james levario: https://youtu.be/RwVCBMUb8Jk you can see a lot of drumming on this vid!!!
  577. *RoyalPrince: PLEASE DO CAPITAL STEEZ EVOL LOVE
  578. Miguel Fabrega: Gojira live!
  579. Rory Roach: So the things that Mastodon have in their control when they play live is everything from their guitar pick all the way through the guitar through the cables and pedals and amps and speakers and mics and PA and the same with recording I'm telling you if you listen to the CD in a CD player through a good powerful amplifier and good monitor speakers and a subwoofer you will understand why these albums are mixed and mastered the way they are it just won't Translate from YouTube Bluetooth or mini jack to a single Bose speaker or something of that nature. And any of the other music that you listen to it even Pink Floyd when you listen to it on a better system you're going to get a hundred percent different experience. Or even if you listen through some bad ass headphones that's going to make a big difference as well. Like noise cancelling seinhauser headphones. Mastodon is one of those bands that accentuate the low end of all the instruments and it just won't translate well on small speakers
  580. Anthony Shreve: Damn, that's awesome! Glad you guys had a great time!
  581. Kevin Williams: There are several videos of Brann playing live up on YouTube. This is one of my favorites, but you can search for "Brann Dailor live" and see much more. https://youtu.be/K4ymziCDWSw
  582. FÃ CLUB DO EPICA: REACT TO EPICA - monopoly on truth (live retrospect) Please
  583. Dan Sterling: +OEMR So, I guess you won't be buying the Kiss Air Guitar Strings or the Kiss Casket?
  584. Bryan Benn: I'm so glad you guys got to see Mastodon live. And even moreso that you enjoyed Ember City. I had always wondered why I hadn't seen more people suggesting it. I would have, but I didn't think anyone would get me behind me.
  585. Joseph Singley: cat daddy
  586. David Prime: Ryan, analog is opposed to digital, stereo is opposed to mono ;-) Glad you enjoyed the show, guys.
  587. Chris Heim: When live you dont just hear it clearly but feel it as well
  588. ht5: You guys haven't heard Mastodon until you've heard Mother Puncher. That's why the hardcore fans seem unsatisfied lately.
  589. Kharmatos13: do Otep - Menocide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ro-ShGxrCAw
  590. Wacław Pustołka: Queens of the stone age - No one knows
  591. Randy Moes: Yeah, Ive been to over a hundred concerts from all genres including metal and I used to go to hardcore techno raves with my head in the speakers and never used earplugs, my ears would ring for atleast a day afterwards. Certain tones bother my ears now, I've never had them checked but I probably have some kind of damage.
  592. thecrazynoemad: It’s not analogue vs stereo. It’s analogue vs digital.
  593. jamma246: YES.
  594. BestUsernameIGot: +Eric Cornwell I think they'd appreciate the heavy riffs and grooves. Although Ross is a great vocalist.
  595. sanchezzz1: Hey guys, I'm not sure what you're playing the music on, but, might I suggest listening to music on some proper equipment? Maybe something modest like a 3-4 thousand dollar system. I believe everything would "wake up" and be a lot better. Great channel guys!
  596. SweKeeper98: Korn - Blind. Sickkk beat
  597. Chris Rojas: Behemoth - Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel (Music Video!!!)
  598. Terry MTBnurse: Awesome, so glad you went to a live show, nothing is like live music. I just went to see Jinjer live up here in Michigan and I would have to say, Jinjer was one of the best metal shows I've ever experienced. Rock on !!!!
  599. Ted Whetsel: Or the Heckler
  600. Amy H: I recently went to my own first metal concert as well! It was a Trivium show, who I found through you guys’ videos! Thank you so much for what you guys do!
  601. Marcus Brown: OF COURSE the live show was more powerful! Their albums are produced amazingly in my opinion. Live shows will always be paramount though, nothing beats being in the room with the band while they perform!
  602. dawvvawevwev: People please, LEPROUS - Illuminate!! They need to hear it :)
  603. Tiago Pacheco: That's what metal is about. People think metal tries to distance itself from people and fans and like most music it's the opposite. And metal fans livelike this as well. Edit: for a Beast, Brann is an awesome dude
  604. Chodaboy566 XBOX: Haha.... we told you a long time ago about Mastodon, lol. Keep up the good work guys
  605. saketmohan06: And if you're wondering why bands like Pink Floyd (and other slower music) sounded better on your speakers..slower music has fewer things going on in the mix. The channel separation (ability to hear the separation between all instruments) will be better, so you will be able to hear enough details even on computer speakers (moreover the Floyd song that you listened to, is probably one of the best produced and mixed songs ever..So that'll sound good on anything). Listen to Pink Floyd on good bookshelf speakers and you'll realise the difference. You'll start hearing completely new things that you missed on your current speakers. But I'm sorry.. bands like Metallica, Gojira, Meshuggah, Devin Townsend etc sounded pretty poor on your speakers. Please consider upgrading your speakers. If not for your reactions, but at least for your personal use.
  606. McMarty: I've seen them live 4 times and, they are even better live that listening to the recorded music.
  607. Feel Truth Inside: React to joey badass 95 till infinity and react to flatbush zombies D.R.U.G.S and Better off Dead
  608. Carefree CFC: spykp I don’t know man. Those 5 seconds ruins the mode for me you know? I’d like to ignore it, but I can’t.
  609. Dillon F: The best mixed Mastodon album is Blood Mountain in my opinion followed by Remission, so I recommend you listen to Circle of Cysquatch from Blood Mountain and/or Burning Man and Where Strides the Behemoth off of Remission. The Remission songs will really showcase Brann's drumming abilities, he's like an octopus addicted to cocaine. As for Primus, I'm gonna recommend the song I've been recommending for a while. GROUNDHOG'S DAY. Listening to this will help you guys get a better appreciation of Primus and what they are all about. Gonna throw in a wild card suggestion with System Of A Down - Question? /It's been a while since you guys listened to SOAD so hopefully you'll rectify that soon!
  610. Ashley Wynn: Megadeth & Ozzy on tour together, here is lost in vegas chance to see them live.
  611. BK's Bullets: Love that you guys had a blast. Good to see!
  612. andrew cox: Mastodon was my first metal concert as well. it was damn near a religious experience. glad you gents enjoyed yourselves.
  613. The Graceful Savage: they have mentioned before that they listen to this music on shitty speakers. I wonder if they upgraded yet.
  614. brandon lokers: But when u geting back to ne oblivascarus tho. ps do eyrie by them thanks guys.
  615. Ryan McCumber: Try using headphones when you listen to mastodon. The production is top notch and it sounds amazing
  616. Ryan Mustain: Drunkship of Lanterns!
  617. PandasMilk: The album's Once More Round The Sun, Emperor Of Sand, The Hunter are all album's with better production than the older stuff
  618. Dave Thomson: +RowdyRon nope
  619. Frankie White: Sylosis-Apparitions
  620. Chad Jack 1225: Between the Buried and Me - Fossil Genera (A Feed From Cloud Mountain)
  621. Jason Giblin: React to Behemoth
  622. Noah Waters: WHAT DO I SAY TOOOO YOUUUU
  623. Taylor Winterhalder: You guys need to see Metallica live
  624. Charles Lizana: I've been watching for over a year now. Gotta echo some other people on here and say you guys should definitely be listening to songs on Spotify with 320k quality with a good set of speakers or something like that. Songs on YouTube sound like garbage in general. It's been ripped and uploaded and re-compressed, etc.
  625. Dj Bazinet: Every time y’all do Mastadon I just yell Steambreather. I knew that would be the song that caught the cat by the tail.
  626. Denver Walker: Damn! That's awesome man! You guys deserve it for sure
  627. Devin S: skinny puppy - pro-test
  628. Nathan Baca: Queens of the Stone Age - Song for the Dead. You won't regret listening to these guys.
  629. Ted Whetsel: Hopefully you heard enough of Primus to give them another shot- Jerry was a Race Car Driver or American Life or Groundhog Day! Something please!!!!!
  630. Zach Young: Really stoked about this
  631. VΞGΛEidolon: NIGHTWISH - Ghost Love Score (OFFICIAL LIVE)
  632. Massttrshrdr Harmonic minor: Saw them back in June . They have passion. Brann was watching the crowd the entire time. He knew what each section of crowd was doing the whole show n gave out drum sticks to the moshers
  633. Ben BenBenBe: If you're looking for more Mastodon, try Divinations or Dry Bone Valley. Bit of a mix of progginess and melodic/hard rock newer sound.
  634. 3amsleep: Guys... get a better sound system, mastodon records are well produced but the music is super busy so a bluetooth speaker will sound muddy.
  635. jamatheo: +Kaleb Copeland Yeah... point taken :)
  636. sumsar0125: Thought it was pronounced "Bran" like the cereal.
  637. Lon Holmberg: It seems a common assumption from the comments that you guys are listening to music on subpar speakers. Would you be willing to talk about your sound system? Def a nice set of speakers can change the way many albums sound like. I now only listen to my jams thru a set of Active studio monitors and separate subwoofer in my bedroom and have my laptop piped into my home theater in the living room when its called for...:) . I am curious to know your setup. Otherwise, GREAT channel and glad you could make it to a show!
  638. Bill Munny: Bahahaha home boy says he doesn't wanna be involved in any hostel movies!! Things would be looking pretty grim for sure!
  639. Jarmo Pääkkönen: Ski-shoe is called mono in Finnish ☺
  640. Danijella Davis: I love you alls reaction to videos and wish you would react to this guy who is mind blowing "Dimash" Sos and sinful passion
  641. Peg E: "I'm not famous!" Lol. You're so modest!
  642. alex rangel: You’ve got to listen on almost anything other than CAT DADDY computer speakers, you can hear lots of details when you can hear it properly. Also, you HAVE to get in the pit, it’s not as rough as you would think and it’s definite a release.
  643. Emile Dehennin: I'm so happy you experienced all of that! The first thing I saw you guys react to was Blood And Thunder... After I saw Brann kinda defending you on one of his IG posts and I started watching more of you guys' content. Really enjoy the content, and am very fkn impressed by you guys' mindset. Cheers guys!
  644. Tyler Bailey: Fuk yeah, Fizzle Fry is an excellent album!
  645. Brian Powers: Glad y'all snapped and went to see a live show especially after you dirt-napped the previous songs. But you REALLY need to get rid of that tuna can you're listening on if this really makes a difference to what you hear. Maybe even use some in ear to experience it different.
  646. Mythloaf101: Hey guys! Love your channel, you should check out the band Umphreys McGee if you get the chance. I’ve seen them over 30 times and have to say they put on one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. You will love it!!
  647. Zman Jace: Should have gone to the Zac Brown concert. They are great live. They covered Enter Sandman for some reason and it was great.
  648. soggybomb: I'm so glad you guys got to feel the camaraderie of a metal show. Metal exists in a parallel culture to mainstream pop music and I think that fact contributes to a shared sense of culture among its fans. You go to a metal show and everybody there is just psyched about the music and sharing it with other people.
  649. Rage of the Turnip: Contrasting with your earlier views of Mastodon, you seem to like their later songs/records more... The earlier music was more scatty and aggressive, and the later music was more smooth. As per usual, the "fans" will always recommend the heaviest, rawest most brutal songs, but for Mastodon, try anything from Once more Around the Sun or Emperor of Sand.. - My favourites of those two records: Word to the Wise and Tread Lightly. Glad you loved it. x
  650. DurrtySteve: Primus - American Life
  651. Skilgannon the Damned: Crystal Skull is my favorite song on Blood Mountain
  652. Kory Stickler: Everybody hates me is my fav but they’re all great by Tom Macdonald
  653. dannyoaks85: I'm telling you guys. The motherload needs to reacted to. Especially the video.
  654. luke666808g: DSO is great, love that band.
  655. Chris Shields: Glad you guys found some new appreciation for Mastodon, love that band.
  656. rb71328 la: You guys do a great job. Much respect to you for what you do and how open minded you are to other genres of music. Primus is awesome by the way. Different but awesome
  657. Gordon House: Yeah!!! Full version not the shitty 4 minutes video on youtube
  658. Roy Garrett: My name is Mudd
  659. Imaad Majeed: set up a crowdfund to get y'all some studio monitors or studio headphones!
  660. Arka Sinha Ray: BREAKING BENJAMIN!!!!!
  661. Sonic Titan: Mastodon and red fang was the first metal concert I went to and after seeing many bands Mastodon is still one of my favorite live bands. I even caught a guitar pick from their guitarist Brent Hinds
  662. kirkhamlett: I'd recommend listening to the rest of Emperor of Sands, specifically the song Roots Remain. I feel like it's their best album overall after Crack the Sky even though "metal purists" would probably say their earlier heavier stuff is better.
  663. Chase New: CODY JOHNSON!!!!
  664. brodemonz: Go check out Phil Anselmo & the Illegals.
  665. DjDarkD: Cat daddy
  666. Alex Bickers: I think you mean Digital, not Stereo :)
  667. Tallyca Hamulhetru: And Metallica was in their town last week. It would be a damn shame if they didn't go, after saying months ago, they'd like to catch them live before Metallica retired. Hearing it was an excellent concert, too!!
  668. mdd47: All the Mastodon guys are tremendously good, funny and genuine people. One of those bands where you feel like they're not just some distant aloof people up on a stage. They're having as much fun as you are. I'll take the Blood Mountain LP btw, my favorite Mastodon album :)
  669. Kyle Semenoff: I'm glad you enjoyed the live concert experience. I'm a huge prog fan but it took me a long time to get around to Mastodon because the sludge-style production is a complete turn-off for me, too. It wasn't really until Once More Round The Sun that I came round on them, and it seems a lot of their fans don't like that album as much for being a bit more straight-forward. But it's exactly why I like it - Chimes At Midnight sounds like what Godzilla's entrance music would be if he was a wrestler.
  670. www.Facebook.com/ThrashGangsters: *hope to see you on more **#Metal** concerts in future!* great feature, interesting story. Keep on rockin' Dudes 💪♥️🎸
  671. Fried Rys: Snot-Get Some
  672. aR0ttenBANANA96: Didnf think you guys could get any cooler lol
  673. andersjaevel: Mastodon - Hearts alive
  674. Danielle Hurrell: Next one HAS to be Gojira! I'm telling you, one of the best shows I've ever seen. Glad you had fun! 😀
  675. Giacomo Piazzolla: <3
  676. Amdread X: MMMMAAAAAASSSSSTTTTOOOOOOOODDDDDDOOOOOOONNNNNNN!!!! Finally you guys! LIVE is definitely the experience. Check your speakers and equalizer. Go to more shows!!! Keep it heavy! ya'll!!
  677. gripenfelter: You guys need to check out Killer be Killed - Wing of Feather and Wax. Troy is in this super-group!
  678. kutnersuicide: Haha! You meant Analog vs Digital. Analog can sound crystal clear though. It's more of an esthetic choice. Let's say it sounds truer to a band playing together in a rehearsal space that way (that's where the term "garage" comes from btw).
  679. CashWiley: Also Brann is the real deal, seeing them in Rochester is always special
  680. Dan Bardos: When are you guys gonna do Zappa? Ur missing out. https://youtu.be/Dp6LT2MdaPI
  681. Michael Hardee: Katdaddie
  682. TheSamuraiApocalypse: I've been trying to get you guys to react to Capillarian Crest even though I'm not as certain you'd like it as much as other songs. I just think you guys haven't heard the right songs, and Mastodon is so versatile I'm glad you guys were able to witness it for yourselves live. Their live show still doesn't completely reflect how versatile they are, cause they can only play so many songs. In regards to the mastering of their studio albums, I think the way they do it is really unique, and if you guys had a better sound system you'd be able to hear things better. I listen to Gojira and Mastodon to in the car, and the bass just covers you like a warm blanket when it's cranked up all the way. Plus I wouldn't call it a "garage sound." It's still mastered very well, but they don't compress it to try to compete for the loudest record. I hate bands or record labels that think it's a good idea to do that. If you guys didn't know there has been a volume war going on, and that's where compressing the sound waves comes in. By doing so it makes the music louder, and I'm not entirely educated on the subject so I'm not going to try to explain my thoughts on why that is. All I know is I hate it, because the music comes out sounding artificial. I like to hear a more natural sound, and if that means turning it up a little louder than I have to for other albums then I don't care. I don't think that's the reason Mastodon sounds muddled though, that is a creative choice that goes back to their sludge roots, and I like it. I'm not a fan of just plain sludge, but I have to have it peppered in in certain places. Like Black Sabbath inspired sludge, and some of their songs could be referred to as sludge, but they aren't necessarily a sludge band. Lots of my favorite bands do this, and Gojira does it too sometimes. Gojira and Mastodon are my two favorite bands by the way if anyone reading this couldn't tell. Anyways, like I said you can sort of comb through the muddled sound easier with a booming system, which is why I recommend you guys either buy their albums and try them out in a car or upgrade your current sound system.
  683. B1G R3D: CAT DADDY!!!!!
  684. Dalton McKinney: Should go to Stargasm after this.
  685. Ryan Mustain: If you want to see Brann in his element go head-to-head with another master, check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDHnME0LZ2w
  686. Vincent Villano: So awesome ,i cant wait for you guys to go to a gojira show.
  687. jdeez80 MYFHC: Guys, you have to listen to these later Mastodon albums through good headphones - you won’t get the full experience through computer speakers
  688. Cancer Söze: my top 3 concerts in my life: 1-Neurosis 2-Faith No More and 3-Mastodon/Gojira,i´m glad you saw these guys live, awesome
  689. sephiroth952: Everygrey - A touch of blessing Cmon dudes I know you'll love it!
  690. Andrew Soto: Wooo you guys are great happy you enjoyed the show 🤘🏻
  691. DoctorBarbarian: 100% The live experience changes everything. There truly is nothing like a live metal show.
  692. Sanskar Wagley: These vids get uploaded early for Patreon subscribers
  693. Rorschach Tyson: Guys please. Regina Spektor, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple.
  694. Jonathan Gomez: React to some Primus!😬😬😬
  695. Dan Glesak: React to Our Last Night’s cover of HUMBLE or the American Nightmare by ICE NINE KILLS.
  696. Nathanael Mills: Glad you guys finally got hooked on mastodon! Didn't understand why you didn't like them at first.
  697. Steven Puckitt: I have studio monitors and a 2.1 speaker system as well and don't hear the 'muddying' effect you guys talk about. Either I like what you guys aren't liking in these songs, your source is low quality, or your speakers need an upgrade. It's entirely possible some of us Mastodon fans just like a certain studio sound you guys consider muddy and we're all off base about the quality of the recording you're hearing through your speakers. To me it doesn't sound muddy though.
  698. Jo Tiesters: Lawless Lands!!!
  699. Eric McLaughlin: Definitely would love to see you guys react to Primus. If you do I would prefer the classics. Like Tommy the Cat, Jerry was Race Car Driver. For the newer ones Wynonna Big Brown Beaver would be fun as well. I don't expect you guys to like Primus. but I would love to see the looks on your faces when the absurdity begins. Primus is a band that falls into that Frank Zappa and Mothers of Invention type area. Where is 1 part music 1 part comedy 1 part freak out
  700. Jason Hatherlee m1ghtysauc3: Their albums sound amazing. Your speakers are just shit.
  701. john habben: The transition from live to cd is very drastic in difference. First live it depends on the soundcheck and whoever they have working the board and the size of the venue or even open to air and closed venue types. CD's can be changed just by the type of system you use to listen to it on (better stereo better sound). But nothing beats live if the band is good. That's hilarious my cousin still uses the word Cat Daddy. pretty funny that you said it. Anyway thanks for your reviews fellas always worth the time to watch.
  702. jakeybball: I think Brann wrote these lyrics while watching his mother on her death bed... before people call the lyrics cheesy
  703. Nathan Baca: Mastodon is titties!
  704. Citzen_J: glad you guys enjoyed your first metal concert. A lot of people don't believe me when I say the metal crowd is probably nicest group of concert goers you will meet. everyone there is there for a good time, and will usually make sure you have a good time as well. Im surprised you find the production on Streambreather, etc to be lacking as it is by far their most over produced album. Its actually one of the things which has turned me off of the latest Mastodon album - too clean, needs more of that raw feel. Also worth noting: Live there are only two guitar players, one bass, one drummer, one keyboard. On the album there are layers and layers of guitars doing different things. Probably easier to hear just the guitar riff going live
  705. Ant Kings: chk Chrystal skull from back int the day..
  706. AllergicToMyself: Check out "The Bit" by Melvins, basically the blueprint for Mastadon
  707. Luis S.: That's why you must give Mastodon another chance.
  708. Cosme Fulanito: well done!!! Mastodon rules!!!!!!!
  709. APAL880: +Lim Jahey i don't see poppiness at all in Era Vulgaris. i think it's their least accessible record, actually. as far as lullabies goes, just listen to the blood is love, and tell me QOTSA lost it after the first 3 records. in my view, the first 5 QOTSA records are perfect. and all very different from each other. they faltered badly on their last two records. they stopped the droning and repetition.
  710. Mitchell Park: I can't wait to hear y'all review a Metallica concert! They are truly a sound and sight to behold!
  711. superjon superjon: cat daddy
  712. Jordan Cales: Hey guys, Please do a review of Tammy Wynette’s “Till I can make it on my own”. What Whitney Houston was to pop music, Tammy Wynette was to country music. She was the reigning queen of country music in the late 60’s & early 70’s. Dubbed the “First Lady of Country music” & “Queen of Country Heartache”, Tammy Wynette’s public & personal life was filled with tragedy but her voice has made her a legend. The song I’m asking you to review was written and recorded by Tammy Wynette in the late 1970’s & inspired by her divorce from George Jones. The song went to #1 on the country charts.
  713. Nuno Dias: I seriously was like "I never realized their albums sound messy" then went to listen to "Ember City" on Spotify... I can clearly hear all the parts. I don't know if it's your speaker, but also I recommend not to listen to music on Youtube. The sound quality is not the best sometimes
  714. B SCHNAUF: Guys.... absolutely love MASTODON! Glad you got to go see them. I wish I could have been there with you guys! Lol
  715. Clayton V: Analog to stereo is what mono is to digital.
  716. I.T. L.: And cat daddy!
  717. Adam Hawkins: I'm glad you got to see Mastodon live. I have seen them 18 times so far. They always bring it and are "FIRE!". I also met Brahn once. Class act and great guy. He is truly a kind and gracious person.
  718. Rizki Pratomo: Next year better put these shows on your list: Tool and Slipknot, they will take your shit to whole another level
  719. Jordan Petty: Please review Haken - The Cockroach King.
  720. Vince Abella: NEUROSIS - BELIEF or LOCUST STAR
  721. neocommenter: ESPECIALLY the video.
  722. N1974: Analog vs digital...
  723. djk6516: My first concert was Primus SUCH AB AMAZING BAND LIVE
  724. roadrunneruntd: A fuckin men
  725. HellaJ 84: Nice! You guys rock always! Please react to Funeral Hymn by Exodus!
  726. automatic_writing666 666: +mike c i like floater and think people should listen to them but i totally disagree with you when it comes to the vocals.
  727. LordApocalyptica: I once heard someone refer to Mastodon as "what you get when you try over and over again to rewrite The Bit," which is a song by the Melvins that Mastodon actually has released two recordings of. As such I think you guys should check out Melvins. "The Bit," "A History of Bad Men," and "The Kicking Machine."
  728. ryan hildner: If you want good melodic medal check out darkest hour- tunguska
  729. 1metalheaddude: You guys have to do Power Unsurpassed by Warbringer. Modern thrash with a little crossover influence. They put on a great live show and their rhythm section absolutely destroys.
  730. PunisherBatmanFan: Down - Stone the Crow Rob Zombie - Dragula White Zombie - Thunderkiss 65 or Super Charger Heaven Pantera - I'm Broken Disturbed - Stupify or Down with the Sickness
  731. war1ock241: Honestly they just need to do a poll for the sword. tears of fire, execrator so many good songs
  732. Norman Bates: Pantera live was the craziest concert I ever saw...Once in a lifetime band
  733. Stephen Franciosa: I’ve been listening to mastodon since their birth, I don’t think theyre too particularly muffled. You guys have to take into account you’re listening on speakers as opposed to headphones. I wouldn’t use muffled, otherwise great entertaining video.
  734. OEMR: +Rodrigo Cardoso kiss almost killed rock and metal with the sheer commercialization they introduced. Aside from a few good songs, they we're clearly chasing $$$. They even had action figures lol :/
  735. Luke Willis: So happy to see you guys finally get Mastodon. I met Brann a few years ago at a festival in Oz and he was a super cool dude, very likeable straight up. You really should react to the Motherload video, great tune and awesome video
  736. Ms Megan: Damn damn daaaaamn!!!! Wish I could've went to this with you guys!😭😍
  737. Kino Lurtz: Absolutely love this video. Big smile on my face. Love Mastodon live too, naturally.
  738. Joe Broadbent: I'm completely the opposite about Mastodon, I have seen them live twice and while I loved them I prefer their albums and consider them an album band rather than a live band. Definitely check Gojira live, best show I've ever seen, they had Code Orange supporting to so it was insane!
  739. vict26: Here are 2 mastodon songs you HAVE to listen to: “Jaguar Gods” and “Chimes at Midnight”
  740. Max Power: So. You guys gonna do more Primus reactions now? I saw this same tour in Chicago. It was Mastodon opening for Primus. This was my first time seeing Mastodon in concert (awesome), and 84th time seeing Primus. If the concert you saw was the same as what I saw, Primus played a lot from their 'The Desaturating Seven' album. Which is an awesome album, but for me, doesn't work well in concert. It's a chill album. However when Primus did play songs off of other albums, they were medleys. Yuck! The only songs they played in their entirety was John the Fisherman and Tommy the Cat. So don't let this experience of Primus turn you off from them. Delve into and do some reactions from Frizzle Fry, Sailing the Seas of Cheese or Pork Soda albums. Prime Primus days! Thank you for your videos. Keep 'em coming!
  741. Shane Smith: Yeah. Punk has been a little underrepresented here.
  742. x: At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
  743. Sutt9505: Mastodon has their roots in sludge metal, which is what you are noticing on the album. The production is kind of muddy, with all of the instruments blending together a bit into an overall sound and not the separated clean sound you are talking about. It's a very common trait of bands that have their roots in sludge.
  744. Dennis D. West: They need a good 2.1 system with wires.
  745. Anton St: React to the OFFICIAL VIDEO of Mastodon - The Motherload. It's gold.
  746. Sir Cosumar: CATDADDY PLZ
  747. Luemm3l: definitely you should react to the official videos of the motherload, asleep in the deep and maybe also a song like trainwreck or crusher/destroyer or march of the fire ants to hear crazy drumming and heacy riffs... mastodon trolling the grammys is also always hilarious
  748. Brad Cane: Cat daddy
  749. Atomic West: Mastodon has made ‘making of’ videos for their last couple albums here on YouTube. That would be a great way to see his drumming separate from everything else. Really fun and entertaining videos.
  750. alphazombie220: Actually extremely glad Mastodon made the playlist and that you guys got to finally experience Mastodon in its purest form. Brann is one of the best drummers in the business and everyone in that band is legend status, and it's so cool to hear Brann being such a cool bro and reaching out to you guys and chilling with you backstage I would recommend Tread Lightly and Divinations, two more of their hard hitting powerful pieces, and two of their best in my opinion
  751. brian knutson: Primus. Winnona's Big Brown Beaver
  752. fionovar74: Best channel ever. I’d love to hear you react to Alice Cooper’s song “Steven” from his 1974 Welcome to My Nightmare album.
  753. Sean Patrick: Ryan McCumber For real. Modern Mastodon records are some of the best produced available and with a good pair of headphones, you can hear all 50,000 different layers
  754. Mother Sloth: ALSO check out the live drum camera of capilarian crest for some sweet ass brann action.
  755. Alex Kulp: Endless Knot would be a good one!
  756. Rewindingsforlosers: Were your guys' ears ringing afterwards? I haven't been to a show in like a decade but I remember my first show I was deaf at the end lol
  757. Michael Murphy: Hey i was there screaming las vegas loves you like a mad man. And got one of branns stick
  758. J. Coz: I am a cat daddy
  759. Jesse Lapham: Damn, they also played Sleeping Giant that show. Love that song, and they seem to very rarely play it live. And Ghost of Karelia would have been sick live too. Motherpuncher from first hand experience goes hard live. Wonder what these guys thought about it. Steambreather and Ember City are great songs. Always brings a smile to my face to see people check out a band like this for the first time.
  760. John Duval: I believed mastodon and primus would agree
  761. Raoul Duke: If you really love drums listen to Tim Alexander of Primus doing a drums only version of “What is great”
  762. BPhillipsDrummer: Also: I remember your initial reactions to Mastodon being kinda 'meh'. If seeing them live changed your opinion of them as much it appears to? Wait till you see Gojira live.
  763. MaddDogg316: I recommend going to see Slipknot, Metallica, and going to a small venue with some unknown bands. The best experiences I've had at metal concerts are going to small venues and just hanging out with all the bands and BSing with them. Look up Angel Vivaldi because his music is phenomenal and he is still very underground. His shows are fantastic as well. Please react to Femina X - Frida's Heart. Thanks.
  764. Federico González: Jen Hilla 98 Are you going through menopause?
  765. Jef-Fry: So happy for you guys. You are famous. Congratulations
  766. Kory Stickler: Please do Tom Macdonald anything I think you guys will like him.
  767. bobmfthomp: Now try some crazy death metal live.
  768. Lyset: I'm primarily a metlahead, and love all the various music that you've listened/responded to -- however, I realized today that it's very Criminal that you haven't done any Fiona Apple yet! Fast as you Can, Limp, Sleep to Dream, Shadowboxer, Criminal...
  769. Max Kidder: i would recommend doing the kick off freestyle from eminem tonight if possible. 11 min of a ridiculous masterclass
  770. Kieran Anderson: Y'all should check out Tom Waits - "Hell Broke Luce"
  771. Keith Mansouri: Try warp riders by the sword!
  772. Gameriffic: Who''s your favorite metal band now?
  773. chris moore: great suggestion!!!
  774. Kayne Walker: I’m a new Mastadon fan and the song that got me was Toe to Toes. Beautiful song.
  775. Chris Crim: Mastodon is top notch. You guys scored big time. They've gotten better with every album. Old stuff is cool, but new stuff is groundbreaking
  776. Wagner Aguilar: Watching you guys react to your first show, reminds me of my first metal show back in the day. Your reaction is 100% genuine. You guys don't stop amazing me. Much love, much respect. Keep it up!
  777. Muꭥn: PLEASE DO A BRAN SOLO REACTION VID!! <3
  778. Meyzen76: Congrats on the 1st metal show! Here's to many, many more!!! Seen them live as well, and your analysis is on point. 👣Mastodon-Toe to Toes (In Studio Video)👣 Check it out!
  779. Michael Nicol: Awesome
  780. Dustin Ruth: I had the pleasure of seeing Mastodon and Gojira play together few years back. You guys would've loved that show🤘🎸
  781. Meu Nome Não Inporta: Hi please React to Epica - monopoly on truth (live retrospect)
  782. hellboyblazing CDXX: React to Mad Squablz vs Denzil Porter - Bar Fight
  783. René Moncayo: Check out Afghan Whigs
  784. Derek Nadeau: https://youtu.be/uvejVzTxFwk I know you have no obligation to accept any opinion I have but if you suspend your disbelief just for a second you'll see . THE BEST FREESTYLE I'VE EVER HEARD .
  785. Adam Stanley Drummer: I don't think that production quality needs to get in the way of appreciating music. I'm sorry, that is way too subjective an attitude. It's like the texture a painter uses - if everything was crystal clear and modern sounding, it'd be boring. I don't enjoy the super clean metal of today because it leaves nothing to the imagination. I don't have to dig for details or imagine anything. It's just really well-recorded sound and has no atmosphere. Recording live amps and distorted instruments places certain limitations on the recording process, even in professional situations - compromises sometimes have to be made. And it's an aesthetic choice by the artist. Mastodon wouldn't have the atmosphere they do if they recorded in a super modern way. You've got to work for the details, and that's a good thing. I recently heard someone knock Pantera's production as the reason they don't listen to them over something like Meshuggah - I found that incredible as Pantera clearly have the more timeless, classic songs and amazing performances. It's just lazy listening, if I may be blunt. The analogue stereo thing you mentioned is incorrect - analogue means the older source-sound-direct--to-recording medium approach. Today we're using digital - the source goes through a computer to be processed. Obviously this causes sonic differences - not always for the better. Stereo simply refers to recording so that sound can be reproduced through two channels - so your brain puts the 'sonic image' together as it would if the band were playing in front of you. Mono recordings would include stuff like very early 50s rock 'n roll, while the Beatles' Sergeant Pepper is an example of stereo being discovered and used as an artistic tool, which is now commonplace. Music like Pink Floyd's doesn't pose the same challenges as Mastodon's because they're not using heavy gain and distortion, so they can focus on the pure sounds. Of course the result is going to be different.
  786. Isuru Nanayakkara: Love the different style guys. Enjoyed the conversation. You gotta check out Damage Inc by Metallica for a full on thrash experience.
  787. Luke Sarazine: Not Unlike The Waves - Agalloch
  788. flattus maximus: Mudvayne- A world so cold.
  789. Steve Martin: I agree that Mastodon is great live. I saw them play the whole Crack the Sky album with BTBAM and Baroness opening. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
  790. Mastodon99: chek this Mastodon - Curl Of The Burl
  791. Johnny Mack: Saw that same concert in June in Charlotte..my first time seeing both bands, enjoyed it of course..glad yaw were able to experience the live sound of the METAL!!..i also enjoy what u guys do..freethinkin is free!!!
  792. Keith Kinkade: Guys, if you want to hear everything, LISTEN TO IT WITH GOOD HEADPHONES. I don't get what youre saying about the production. They have some of the best studio production of any band out there....HEADPHONES...
  793. Brandon Catlett: "Black Mountain" haha!
  794. Azazoth: I've been saying should have done Steambreather since you guys did the first Mastodon song, man.
  795. Douglas Seebergh: Go to a jimmy buffett concert.....have a fun time.
  796. Austin Nichols: That coaster looks like a dope jacket patch
  797. 42DEEP42THOUGHT42: As for the details buried in the sound, I have two words for you: LOUDNESS WAR. That's a widespread disease of modern music production really hurting the sound quality and therefore the enjoyment of the more audiophile minded music listener. http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/list/dr-min?artist=Mastodon
  798. Patrice Allgaier: Much love and happy happy holidays from germany! ♥
  799. RiCö Tokyo: This makes my soul smile!!! Cheers m8s!!!
  800. Ali: "Wish this was the first song i listened to" - Feels so good to hear after i've been commenting "Steambreather" since last September
  801. shane smith: Love this great to here you had such a positive experience... the metal community is deceptively close. From the outside it looks violent and misguided but most fans are simply looking for a place to fit in and have a good time. Btw check out the Pantera in Moscow live show of domination.... just amazing both the band and the crowd. And this song has the best breakdown ever.
  802. OEMR: +Rodrigo Cardoso Dont get me wrong, I love Detroit Rock City :) but the commercialization that was Gene Simmons' creation has been widely regarded as "despicable" lol
  803. Robert Killian: primus live is amazing live. i have seen them multiple times, always great. one time it was just them no opening act and was one of their best.
  804. xedgeforeverx: God damn I'm so proud of you guys. Free thinkers unite and now you can say you're truely a free thinker being apart of the actual experience. Love you dudes no homo welcome home.
  805. ret iar: To me you guys sound like youre apologizing for not recognizing the talent before ;)
  806. razer REAPER: Yes
  807. Nathan Birkett: Glad you guys finally stopped sleeping on Mastodon
  808. holdthatthought1: Did Brann hook you up?
  809. Justin Duerr: Would like to see you guys go back to Avenged Sevenfold again. They have quite a bit of variety in their music.
  810. datdudedatgetsit: 96 quite bitter beings - cky
  811. Lance Covington: You guys would combust if you saw gojira live. Best live performance I’ve ever seen.
  812. Derek Hoffman: Considering you both are huge fans, you guys needs to check out Gojira live! One of the best live shows I've ever seen
  813. Brian Wittmuss: I’m so glad you guys finally got to go to a metal show, and Mastodon and Primus are definitely awesome bands live. Please go see Gojira next!!
  814. Khurbin Brodhur: "We were a little too drunk to fully analyze everything we experienced" is a PERFECT reaction to a metal show LMAO
  815. Zachery Taylor: Ahhh, yes. That age old debate: analog vs digital. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  816. Kornél: Cat Daddy :D
  817. Andrew Domonic: Especially EoS with Brenden O'Brien at the desk. So many layers.
  818. erinocalypse: What do I say to you? Catdaddy
  819. Jeff Brazeal: Cat daddy
  820. Shmick !: Yes! Warp Riders is their best album imo
  821. Ben Shandrow: Metallica - Blackened please
  822. Alan Thompson: Please react to Clandestiny or something off of Emperor of Sand!
  823. Page Wagley: Mastodon - Mother Puncher
  824. Justin Bennett: Someone send these dudes some actual audio equipment. It's not like THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE watch you guys. You owe it to your fans and yourselves to actually hear the music you're reviewing. Your comments about audio engineering and albums not being fully mastered are often times ignorant because you're not hearing the music correctly. Also, you tube files are pretty low quality as well. Love yalls channel, not meaning to hate on yall too much. Keep it up! But get some speakers yall!!
  825. Manoj Jaiswal: Cockroach King - Haken
  826. Daniel Michels: Igorrr - Opus Brain is a must! Keep it up fellas!
  827. Ian Desmond: P R I M U S !!!
  828. Pasza Dem: Mastodon is one of my favourite bands ever:) it was sad that you don't get it with first listen... But now you saw the show, you know Mastodon is amazing! So it's time to experience full album:) Crack the sky is best option! And also, i Hope you do Myrkur - Ulvinde some day!
  829. TheMetalBeaner: That shirt!!!! “I'm Nikolas Van Helsing, professor of proctology and other related tendencies. A graduate of the University of Rangoon. And assorted night classes at the Knoxville Tennessee school of faith healing.”
  830. kmcclinton71: Primus popped your cherries!!! Congrats on understanding the real meaning of metal... live and among your peers is the way metal is meant to be enjoyed. Try Corrosion of Conformity - Albatross or Clean My Wounds for some playlist material. Also, big ups to Mastodon for the hospitality... it really is about the musical experience. Through experience, those are memories you will cherish for life.
  831. Andy Ruiz: Awesome react! Can u plz react to some stoner metal How dark we pray by High on Fire
  832. luke666808g: You're comparing the live PA system to like laptop speakers or somethin? I can't tell what you're comparing the live sound _to_
  833. Alan Leos: THANK YOU SCIENTIST!!! MR INVISIBLE
  834. Jose Torres: Search Brann Dailor MEINL cymbals... they have concert footage of Brann where the camera is focused on his playing... you definitely can see his brilliance!!!!
  835. chiiitmeng: Mastodon live is epic! You guys rock! These videos make my day! Check out TORCHE! You’ll love them as much as mastodon!
  836. Israel Kelley: Review rancid 1 million times better than queens of stoned age
  837. Jen Hilla 98: Tool is overrated trash.
  838. X-101: When you guys going to do the Bad Brains
  839. K Chris: React to COLT FORD-Reload
  840. Lexi Walter: I got to see primus and mastodon in columbus ohio, Mastodon was amazing! They were super interactive with the crowd. Ive been listening to mastodon for a while but until i saw them live i had no idea all of them do the vocals instead of just Brann. Ive seen primus a few times before then though and they alwayyyys bring it home in my opinion. I guess alot of people just do not get Primus, but i think they put on fantastic shows and Les is superhuman talented. it’s so cool you guys got to do this!!
  841. TheDrummer9992: if you guys want to see a good metal drum video you should watch either Alex bent from trivium or the infant annihilator drum playthrough. I know the name of the band and the song title is a bit much lol but it is still honestly an amazing drum playthrough live.
  842. ausgebombt: Guys... Before you continue judging the quality a d clarity of a recording, would you consider upgrading from your shitty speakers to something more audiophile graded ? Even a couple of HiFi headphones could work better for you ...also, I'm not sure if you just use YouTube to hear these songs or you use another medium of play ...but highly compressed audio files (like those from YouTube) won't do the experience any favor ... Just saying that you may wish to upgrade your hardware before judging the mastering of a track
  843. CC G: You gotta get in the pit when you are young. Takes to long to heal when you get old sore for a week.
  844. Crown Me: Great review per usual! You guys gotta check out that "What's Free" off the new meek mill draft, Jay z Snapppped!
  845. damnbacon88: Also, I'd recommend "The Face of Oblivion" by High on Fire, Sleep's "dragonaut", or anything put out by Zeal and Ardor for a future video. Keep kickin ass!
  846. Chris Eanes: Mono/Stereo Analog/Digital There is no such thing as Analog/Stereo
  847. Kiran Buzza: How about a full Master of Puppets album reaction?
  848. jacob henry: Glad you guys enjoyed your experience. I have seen maybe 30 something metal bands live, and one of the most fun I've ever had was THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER playing their Nocturnal album through its entirety two years ago. They are one of THE best death metal bands. But if you listen to them, you desperately need to read the lyrics. Trevor Strnad is a fantastic writer
  849. Nathan Baca: +Lim Jahey agreed. They got softer on lullabies and everything since. It's not necessarily a bad thing though just not to my tastes. First 3 qotsa albums were awesome. I still like their later stuff but they left the desert stoner vibe behind for more of a blues rock/pop rock sound.
  850. Jason Skee: So glad you got to see them live.
  851. Brian McFadden: I've always had the same thoughts on Mastodon. I heard them live and was blown away, the albums, not so much.
  852. manimal667: You need to watch the video of Mastodon's The Motherload!
  853. Kyron Klain: Seen Mastodon twice live and they're badass.
  854. Presto Strange-o: Cat Daddy!!
  855. Taj Baber: When it comes to metal, live is where it's at. That's the challenge. Capturing the live experience and energy in a studio recording
  856. Bob Papadopoulos: You guys, being in Vegas, should check out Punk Rock Bowling. It happens every year and the crowds are all super cool. Find one of the hundreds of Turbojugend jackets that will be in town, ask where the party's at, and you'll have a guide.
  857. t3hgir: Primus - American Life !!!!! Amazing lyrics, great musicianship, one of the best Primus songs.
  858. LivingInTheKaliYogurt: TonyHancock I cosign this request. Phenomenal song and kind of left field in terms of its sound compared to what Pearl Jam had done before this track. And if you could do the review with the music video without it being taken down, it brings an added level to the experience of the song.
  859. Luliby: James Murray? Like the guy from Impractical Jokers? Awesome that you checked out a concert for the first time. Would have been cool if you also gave a small look to Primus again here.
  860. Fast Start Marketer: You HAVE to Watch this: You'll get a massive appreciation for the entire bands' skill in music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj4cbYAWUqg
  861. Thorn: Primus sucks
  862. Red Eyed Villain: October? god damn... how far in advance are these reactions/reviews being filmed?!
  863. Dirk Diggler: You guys are officially more metal than I am...I been a fan for years but my ass is glued to my computer chair. I dont partake in the real thing outside of my speakers. You guys lived it for a night. Kudos.
  864. Gabriel Malinis: 0:49 "schnippets" 😎
  865. dbbatel: So cool you went to your first live metal show! Y'all might really enjoy a Havok concert. Just went to see them and they killed it! I recommend their latest album, too!
  866. Richard Morea: So glad you guys had a great time. Who you seeing next?
  867. Stuart Nicholas Green: What kinda sound setup do you guys have? Not sure if you've mentioned it before.
  868. Clown Lives Matter: For the love of God please do mastodon the motherload video review
  869. J. Coz: one of the best drummers. some say he's too busy. I'm not one of them! blast these songs on a real system with 15" woofers, it'll be clear! great job guys.. glad you got to see how we do it live. in the pit is seriously the best time ever.
  870. Mitt Namn: +MawcDrums Nah. Just my opinion.
  871. Alastair Carroll: If you want a video of just brann check this out https://youtu.be/Qns3Gb5O79I
  872. Growlizing: +Skilgannon the Damned wow, I can't even listen to Mastodon in the car. It sounds bloody terrible in my car, like a wall of just pure noise, and not the good kind!
  873. Mark Manley: Mastodons best produced album is Blood Mountain (best album also). Check that shit from start to finish. I think you will appreciate this one more from a studio produced/mastered point of view
  874. allenro1: Corrosion of conformity "heal my wounds"
  875. Sho-Nuff Madrigal: Ember city is a great song but it will always bring me back to when I would visit my grandma in the hospital. The lyrics in the chorus say it all. I miss you Grandma. I hope I see you again one day.
  876. Kris Gardner: I really like the idea of concert reactions! Do some slipknot, a7x, or Metallica please!
  877. Jacob Borg: Probably got lost in the comments, but i remember posting that since you preferred Oblivion to Blood and Thunder, you should check their more recent work! Really glad that you are enjoying some Mastodon, you should check out Roots Remain, also off of Emperor of Sand
  878. Ronald Saxton: "I wont see you tonight" pt 1 Avenged Sevenfold please this is by far in my opinion the best avenged sevenfold song made
  879. BlackSheep90ss: it's weird seeing you two standing lol i always thought Ryan is taller than George
  880. Mitt Namn: Snooze. Tool is pretentious bullshit.
  881. PewDiePieee: Listen to powercore by nekrogoblikon!!!
  882. kutnersuicide: Go see Gojira next guys!
  883. Dicks McGee: 17:32 I think y'all meant going off
  884. Victor Garcia: Cat daddy. Just in case lol
  885. Afrobatic: Did anyone else think Ryan was the taller one?
  886. John Duval: What's up guys. If you really want to see drums being played by the best then do yourselves, you're fans and me a favor and check out the video "ELP live drum solo from Switzerland 1970". You will be glad you did. It also has a very wild keyboard solo at the end the likes you have never seen before that's a promise! I have no doubts you will both be amazed by Carl Palmer's speed and accuracy.
  887. ruinsane100: I love how passionate you guys are about your channel and what you do. Great video! So cool that you got to go backstage and hang with the bands.
  888. Fahim Ahmad: I saw Mastodon/Gojira in 2014...u guys would have loved that! I'm sorry u missed Primus - another band that sounds better live than on record! Your loss...
  889. david thom: If I hadn't saw them live I may never have became a fan
  890. Scott Johnson: Power Trip - Soul Sacrifice Power Trip - Crucifixation Power Trip - Divine Apprehension Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
  891. Wulfgold: 1. I got a bitching stereo, come over to mine, we'll have a smoke and listen to some Mastodon - I'm in the UK, so phone first ;) 2. Listen to some Zeal and Ardor
  892. Tony Lauder: Can you do a review/reaction to Metallica the call of ktulu when it rolls into master of puppets. Also you guys are fans of hip hop , and i was wondering if you had heard of THE HILLTOP HOODS in particular the song NOSE BLEED SECTION. Love your work, keep it real.
  893. Fast Start Marketer: I KNEW YOU'D COME AROUND!!!!!!!! Mastodon is the truth, and you guys can now to get into some of their crazy good music. Welcome to the party guys ;)
  894. Edward Jones: Dillinger Escape Plan - Widower (for your chart, they probably come under Mathcore, but this song is soooo much more!)
  895. Oľga Ďurčenková: Its sad,we newer goin see anymore AC/DC and Motorhead live :-(
  896. J.T.88: I saw this tour too. I never got into BTBAM and I really wish Baroness had played longer. They only got like 20 minutes, good stuff tho
  897. Tic Toc Bang: The most passionate, considerate fans are metalheads. The best!
  898. Doug Brown: I was at that show, too cool wish I ran into you guys
  899. Robinson michel: I just want y'all to know that your height is in full view.😂😂(take it as you want)
  900. Skilgannon the Damned: Mikasa is an awesome tune
  901. Diabolical Jazz: My whole opinion of Crack the Skye changed when I heard it live. Fuckin' Ghost of Karelia CRUSHED live. So fuckin' good.
  902. John M: Brann has always seemed like a genuinely good dude. Glad y'all had a great experience!
  903. EyesSetOnTheHorizon: Metal is built from the ground up to be heard live, glad y'all got to feel it.
  904. Wayne Gaffney: Love seeing people love something new that I've loved all my life. Nice.
  905. Tim Keeling: Definitely agree that they need a better sound system to listen on but don't forget that all the music we hear on these videos is coming through whatever Mic is attached to their camera and is also affected by the room they're in (plus you don't know the original playout source quality.) There's a lot of factors at play here. Really they need a little mixing desk so they can do line input from their PC plus some lapel mics and decent studio speakers and then record it all into multitrack and mix it down but that's a lot more work and investment required there. I still enjoy their vids though even if the audio quality is a little naff at times 🙂
  906. Trey Schwartz: Check out my comment on the same subject.
  907. WebsterA: Maximum the Hormone ALIEN VIDEO! Cheers guys
  908. Jeramie Koval: Kat daddy!!
  909. Emanuil Tomov: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qns3Gb5O79I Since you mentioned you'd like to hear Brann in a bit more relief -- This is Brann doing a drum demonstration on one of their older songs (Capillarian Crest from Blood Mountain)
  910. Tom P: Stevie Ray Vaughn voodoo child 🎸 🎸🎸🎸 rip Stevie
  911. ChillDd00d: Yeah Mastodon has their own coke mirrors. They're dope.
  912. Peter Scartabello: This is amazing! 🙌🤘
  913. Jeramie Koval: This was awesome keep on promoting the free thinkers
  914. notyuu: I feel like you guys are finally getting your metal ears. Just my thoughts here but i feel like these songs wouldn't have resonated with you maybe 6 months ago. Your ears are tuning to the music that you are listening to now. And what you were saying on live vs what you hear on streaming; welcome to the world of compressing. They take the highs and cut them and boost the lows to flatten out the wave sign. Its ruining music. It cuts out the impact of dynamic highs and lows that really shape the feeling of so many songs.
  915. wstuart913: Please react to "The Czar" by Mastodon! That's the song that made me get into them
  916. Nick Leporno: Nobody slaps a bass like les claypool and primus
  917. Kaleb Copeland: +jamatheo See, I'd normally agree but these guys just saw them in concert and I'm sure they know what they're getting themselves into
  918. madeofwax92: Really strange to me that you don't consider their production clean. I could definitely see it on older songs like Blood and Thunder, but their new stuff is clean as it gets imo.
  919. wentropy: +Raoul Duke Really? It's the song that got me into Primus!
  920. Nasir Sharaf: Please react to Death Grips!! Please please please
  921. Kihlo Seven: Metal fans are some of the nicest down to earth fans you will ever meet and i used to wonder why that was. I think it's because us metal fans get so much aggression out through the music it's literally therapy.
  922. Nigel Fortune: Awesome vid guys more King’s X soon please! 🤘🤘
  923. Robert Vaccarini: Give Toxic Garbage Island by Gojira a listen!
  924. Tic Toc Bang: Absolutely. I've seen them 10+ times. Always amazing!
  925. mrgrimrjs: Awesome, July 3rd is my birthday and Mastodon was my first metal concert.
  926. M DeBehnke: Cat daddy haha!!
  927. MrRefreshinglygood: awesome. Yep bringing people together You guys are awesome.
  928. Byron Hobson: You need to do a series comparing 440 hertz A to 432 hertz A. It’s a slight pitch shift down that brings the vibration into harmony mathematically. Google it.. there’s a lot of info out there on it. There’s a huge difference in clarity, tone quality and just the overall feel of the song. You can look up just about any song in 432 hertz. Even Madonna and Michael Jackson sounds better with 432 A.. lol. Check out Holy Wars... WAY better! Megadeath Holy Wars 432 hertz https://youtu.be/GpsOee_kLXY Megadeath Holy Wars 440 hertz https://youtu.be/hcjN5BNU9CY
  929. Christian Thiel: If you like Branns Voice and his drumming,Check out THE MOTHERLOAD! And if you do,then do the Video too! ;)
  930. Jason Boone: Brann rocking the Cannonball Run shirt.
  931. Chris Rojas: Between The Buried And Me - Voice Of Trespass
  932. NCJake2013: REVIEW BARONESS - March to the Sea
  933. B1G R3D: Do you have 3 different accounts weirdo?
  934. Bobby Willingham: Gameriffic oh I get it haha! These days I’m digging 12 foot ninja. Also Dog Fashion Disco.
  935. Hypest Deano: I /knew/ y'all would like some Mastdon if you had more opportunity to listen to them! I was able to hit a show from this tour on the East coast, too, Mastodon is my favorite band and Primus is up there in my faves too. My favorite concert I've ever been to!! So happy to hear you two were able to see it too c:
  936. Gr8gg787: Great Stuff as always. Living Colour “Cult of Personality”. Insane guitar playing from late 80’s
  937. McBubbleslvl900: Citation needed.
  938. Sasa Kanjuh: Hey guys, the fact that you finally enjoyed some Mastodon songs really made my day. I'm relatively recent Mastodon fan (I've been listening them for about two years), but at this moment it's probably my favorite band. They just have such a unique sound which perfectly resonates with me, that almost any other band can reproduce. I was quite disappointed after your reactions, because it looked like you have no intentions to revisit the band, which would be a shame considering how many great tracks they have to offer. Bran is really great guy, and I'm so glad you had the pleasure of meeting him and other band members in person :) If you have any future plans regarding Mastodon reactions, I think Crack the Skye would be interesting album to consider, or even Sleeping Giant (which is a song that got me into the Mastodon) from album prior to that. Btw, it's great to hear that other people appreciate your work as much as I do, that's really amazing :) Anyway, thanks a lot guys, have a grate day :)
  939. Peter Scartabello: Listen to March of the Fire Ants! It’s earlier but great drumming!
  940. K L: check out Dry Bone Valley from Mastodon.
  941. Moonwhisper8 MW8: Yo what up free peeps, Love your vids, don't know if you have checked out your local rock seen? In in sac CA we have Friday night free music at the park, local artist.
  942. Dan Sterling: It's unfortunate that you guys missed the opportunity to see The Dillinger Escape Plan. Talk about a live experience, holy hell
  943. Significant Otter: the metal community is 99% lovely at the shows. Even when you mosh and you fall, it doesn't take 5 seconds for anyone to help you get back on your feet. That's one reason I love this subculture so much. If you're interested in this particular form of art, everyone there is your friend. Cheers to you my bois, I'm excited for more concert reviews in the future!
  944. Tommy Lynn: Congrats guys on your 1st metal show! Live is always better!
  945. David P: Cat Daddy says Bad Brains! I Against I!
  946. John MacKenzie: A few years ago Mastodon and Gojira toured together. Can you imagine how cat daddy that show would be!! It was incredible!
  947. VanHinkleStein: Ya'll are so rad!! Love it!!!
  948. Patrick Walden: Mastodon's Leviathan, the album that the song "Blood and Thunder" is on which you reviewed, is widely regarded as being one of the best metal albums of the 2000's. Most metal heads, myself included, think that the mix is outstanding, but I will say that I have never thought it lent itself to listening on anything but a quality sound system. Also, Ember City and Steambreather are fantastic songs for getting into Mastodon and I'm glad you listened to them.
  949. Willie Esparza: The metal community loves you guys! Keep up the good work!
  950. David Kraus: I went to this show and brought a whole group of people who heard Mastodon for the first time. They were very surprised at how dynamic the band was. Also, I got to speak with Brann when he was in the crowd. He was very patient when we spoke despite me defintly having too much to drink and repeating myself a few too many times. It couldn't have been that much fun for him and I hope my love for their work came through. A very classy guy. I wish I could have caught up with you guys as I really like the work you do. Maybe next time, as we are both locals. Keep up the excellent work.
  951. Andrew Bowen: You guys would enjoy the whole Once More Round the Sun album, as well as the Hunter album
  952. MadCircle01: Is a crusade only of the brave.
  953. J Plan: he needs better posture lol
  954. BroMan: If Devin Townsend ever tours again, highly recommend him since you guys enjoyed Kingdom so much.
  955. Baron Lane: This was a fun listen. Mastodon is the shit!
  956. Lucas Marino: You guys MUST see DEFTONES live. You would be so impressed.
  957. fadetoblack51: Crack the skye was amazing
  958. riec0123: Kansas - Sparks of the Tempest I really think you guys will like that one. A little hard rock, a little prog, some good transitions
  959. Greg Bourne: I knew you guys would like newer Mastodon, they still have some proggy elements but it's more catchy and appealing to the ear of people learning to like Metal.
  960. dfgarcia74: Saw them in Austin. They were awesome!!! Best live band I have seen in a long time.
  961. William Mcguire 3rd: Yall keep doing what ya doing!!
  962. Fluffy McFluffavic Meowski O'Fluffadopolus: You're talking about the live S&M one, right? 🤘
  963. dlawless88: Between the Buried and Me - Selkies: The Endless Obsession
  964. Mark Clark: Whats your next metal concert you are going to?
  965. OGRE Actual: What? You're gonna have to speak up dude
  966. ill-fated E: Primus - Too Many Puppies! Awesome experience guys, love the story. Also love how you guys got more into Mastodon because of this as well so cool.
  967. sumsar0125: "LeBrann James"
  968. Cody Flood: Watching your videos reminds me what it was like to get into metal for the first time. It keeps me coming back. Keep up the dope content my dudes!
  969. SM Music Plus: Age of Winters has the riffage though.
  970. Hulk Slayer: There WAS an ulterior motive.... now you want to go to more concerts! It's like a crack dealer, the first one is always free, now you're hooked!! Lmfao jk Soooooooo happy to hear how much fun you had, how well Mastodon is reppin the genre and how much what you do is appreciated. Cause it IS appreciated! I know you guys don't really get why what you do is so special, but it is. Speaking for myself, when you guys react to songs I've been listening to since I was 6 (I was born in 1980 and had 3 older brothers who were metalheads) and take for granted, and it blows your mind and you two break it down in such an introspective way. It literally makes me feel as if I am hearing it for the first time and I fall in love with it all over again. And THAT is why I love your channel... you help prevent me from taking the music I love for granted. Much love R&G.
  971. Per Christian Holm: Analog vs stereo? Say whaaat? 🤣
  972. kungfubam 69: eluveitie : king Please listen to this guys, folk metal, violen for the the soul 👌
  973. Billy Pappas: Can we try to get them to try BTBAM finally? I’ve been trying for a year!!
  974. Mitch P: So glad you guys enjoyed your concert experience. Shame you couldn't catch more of Primus, though. That being said, you owe it to yourselves to see Iron Maiden live. They are at the MGM Arena in Vegas on 9/13/19. They are considered one of the greatest live bands ever. I guarantee you'll be blown away.
  975. ALAN SMALE: CALL OF THE MASTODON
  976. bambino100011: You guys are just awesome :)
  977. D1D3ROT: Guys, you should review "Wings of feather and wax" by Killer be Killed
  978. Clayton V: About time! Lol
  979. Not Snax: Intronaut "Fast Worms"
  980. B1G R3D: Get a life.....
  981. Rocky Rockford: I think it's my favorite song, it took Ember Citys spot
  982. Doug McGinnis: COME ON GUYS! GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT! AC/DC - LET THERE BE ROCK
  983. LukeH97: Heavier =/= better EoS and CTS are still their best releases imo
  984. squidhands: Watch the making of Emperor of Sand if you wanna see Brann go off on drums and vocals. Also can't wait for you guys to see Gojira live.
  985. Tony Trujillo: Sad to hear you couldn't make The Zac Brown Band concert, they are incredible live.
  986. Levi White: I'm sure there's many metalheads like me who are listening to way more hip hop and even country music because of you guys. Love it!
  987. Vae Victis: Tool is an amazing experience live as well If you have $200 dollars burning a hole in your pocket
  988. GooseZen: Primus is a band you need to get on. Doesn't matter what, quite frankly, there's amazing stuff on every album. Just hit up some Primus.
  989. Transoceanic Winds: +Ivan Zonta Joe has said that they've made "a hundred songs" that could be used on the next album, and that was a few months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they were already recording
  990. alec666100: I'm so happy for you guys, to see Mastodon anyway never mind being hooked up by the band Brann and also for Mastodon to be your first metal/rock gig. Albums are one thing, but live is where bands really shine. You've experienced them properly now. Here's the segment from making the album that focuses on Brann recording the drums. Cheers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGCWTcBM4QI
  991. Cameron Clarke: UK - recently become a new fan of you guys and your always talking and asking about UK culture and understanding it more, best way to understand it from a rapper point of view is shiros story by rapman part 1, 2 and 3. It's a story being rapped and acted ft some really big UK rappers. It would be great to see your guys point of view on this
  992. C0L0SSUS: You can see a lot of Brann's live performances over on Meinl's channel (they make his cymbals)
  993. As: If you want to get out of usa borders. https://youtu.be/nfB6U0yPGiI An Israeli rapper named Ron Nesher / Skydamc in provocative Freestyle
  994. B1G R3D: .......Cat Daddy
  995. inthewoods: Go job cat daddys:)
  996. morgan little: Can you guys do some Dillinger Escape Plan? Really a unique band that doesn't sound like anyone else.
  997. Edward Loves crypto: Cat daddy .. still waiting on more AIC .. junkhead , God am, rotten apples plz
  998. Matt Martinez: Have these guys listened to Dethklok yet? I nominate "Bloodlines."
  999. Andrew K: Check out Brann's set at Modern Drummer if you want a great video of him going hard on the drums. https://youtu.be/Qns3Gb5O79I
1000. Carson Grubaugh: Your life is not complete until you have seen Mastodon's - The Motherload music video.
1001. Nick Fraser: I think you guys would love “who knows” by Zac Brown Band. DRUMS are Insane!!!
1002. Adham El-Batal: Back in May in Boston during the Mastoprimus tour, I got a guitar lesson from Bill Kelliher. Down to earth guy and I learned a shitton of what makes Mastodon music so amazing. Then during the concert, when Mastodon's set was done, Brann Dailor came into the sound booth to watch Primus. He was a foot away from me. I fistbumped him and took photos and had a chat. Such cool, chill people. I am glad you guys from Lost in Vegas got to experience them live. It truly is something else. Much love
1003. Tim Grzecki: If I may suggest, the new Sonic Temple Art and Music Festival happening mid May in Columbus OH would be a great way for you guys to immerse yourselves in not only live rock/metal music but really see the culture as well. Its replacing a long time festival called Rock on the Range. Three days, three stages, lots of music. Except for some weather issues a couple times I've had nothing but good experiences in the four times I've attended. And this year your beloved Gojira is on the bill. Obviously there's a good amount of expense for you there, however I would think you have a decent shot at getting credentials to the show given the amount of subscribers and views you have. I've seen people with way less credibility than you guys get credentialed to sporting events I work in Detroit. Worth a shot if you're interested. And if that's something that does happen and we happen to run into each other your next round is on me.
1004. MOH: Need to do "Toe to toes" by Mastodon. Great song off a great album, (Cold Dark Place).
1005. Pasi T: I'm with you, bros! Saw Mastodon live 2017 Tuska Festival, here in Finland, and they we're good beyond words!
1006. madeofwax92: So glad you guys had a good time. Metal shows can be life changing.
1007. George Smart: It's ok guys. Been there, done that.
1008. Shrey Kundra: You need to experience TESSERACT live. Their shows will blow your mind, not even kidding.
1009. kuattto: Very happy for you guys.
1010. Damien Delvallée: I agree that old Mastodon albums sound a bit sludgy. The last 2/3 ones have a brighter sound and the songs are more melodic. They sound amazing live too.
1011. Ali Sue: Ember City has always been one of my top fav Mastodon songs!!! And steambreather is my fav on the new album. I'm sooo glad you finally went to a metal show! I hope you have the opportunity to see many more this coming year! Keep it up. You guys are fabulous!... but I think you really need to give oblivion a few more listens.
1012. HELLCAMINO 72: Damn it I'm days late on this!! Huge Mastodon fan, loved them with Primus this past tour! I even snagged Brann's drum stick and Bill's guitar pic......threw it right to me!! Cat Daddy infinity!!!
1013. Chris Crim: Analog vs digital?
1014. CuckleCunt Fuckin'SuckaSack: Saw'em with Opeth and Ghost during the Heritage Hunter Tour one of my favorite concert experiences ever. Mastodon and Opeth were my favorite bands at the time and Ghost surprised me because they weren't as well known as they are now. Glad ya'll had a good time.
1015. Mike Trujillo: That puzzles been sold out EVERYWHERE breaks my heart...
1016. Lyset: +TylerPresents MITCH Every Single Night is good too! Though I think her best album start to finish is "When the Pawn..." I'm actually a little disappointed in myself that I didn't put "On the Bound" up there
1017. Michael Barry: Glad you found the heavy metal community warm and welcoming. Very stoked you enjoyed yourself and hope you continue to connect with us in person.
1018. Dave Thomson: Seen both on the same night a few years ago
1019. Eduardo Nogueira: PLEASE GUYS, Nevermore - Sentient 6 REACTION!
1020. memorattlehead: HEY FREE THINKERS!! you should review some Graveyard, it's not metal but is a hard rock inspired by bands like Black Saabath, Jimmi Hendrix, Cream and lot of 70's hard rock, bluesy and psychedelic stuff... try "No good Mr. Holden" that song is crazy and full of feeling and if you like bands like Mastodon that transcend from the "conventional metal" you should try Kverlertak, Nekrocosmos coould be a good one Greetings, nice channel!
1021. Danielle Blais: Check out the making of Blood Mountain by Mastodon. There is a great video of Brann drumming. It's on YouTube. Brann is my favorite drummer and he is hilarious judging by the videos I have seen
1022. Reinaldo Cartagena: yow nice vid i like this! the more metal shows you go the more you will like it!
1023. John Janczy: Does this mean y'all are finally metal heads? Have you finally been converted?
1024. Eric Smith: Hell Yeah guys!!! Live is usually a better musical experience. Next, Lost In Vegas needs to see Slipknot Gojira and Korn. All insane live homies congratulations to LostinVegas!!!
1025. Alejandro Mujica: By the way, not to dial the channel, but you'd get a kick out of Post Rock. Harper Lewis by Russian Circles is a friggin jam. Kudos to you both!
1026. FanaticalDrummer: More JinJer and Nevermore!
1027. Kyle Hurlburt: I'm glad you guys went and seen Mastodon live. They're one of my favorite bands to see live. You might want to listen to Dry Bone Valley from Mastodon. Oh yeah, and Gojira's Silvera.
1028. jim Jennings: I'm going to be pushing for you guys to react to Static X hard :) it's coming up to the 20th anniversary of the release of Wisconsin Death Trip and been 4 years since Wayne Static died, they band are planning a big tour in rememberance. Wayne had a unique style of vocals and deserve to be in here. You could check out the title track of Wisconsin or my personal pick would be the excellent Cannibal.
1029. Bon Fire: Please react to Barbarism Begins At Home or This Charming Man by The Smiths
1030. Patrick Mills: I have seen Mastadon 3 times and they killed it 2 times and were really flat once...the flat show was mayhem fest with no crowd in the seats and half the lawn empty, ill give them a pass for being that main stage opener...but they killed it on Unholy Alliance tour with Slayer & Lamb of God
1031. spykp: The Moor is (for me) their best song. Such high quality.
  1032. Jakub Hricov: Cat daddy
  1033. jesse seiple: CAT DADDY!
1034. Noumenon93: You have to do a reaction to Mastodon - The Motherload (with the video) sooner or later.
1035. androtaz01: Do curl of the burl.
1036. eric bermudez: Metallica harvester of sorrow live Moscow
  1037. Troublemagnet: VEKTOR-Black Future
1038. Reverend Benzo: 2:09 Hey. It's um, Blood Mountain. :)
1039. David Martins: Colour me blind by Extreme.
1040. gee: So glad you guys got to experience this! Your channel is so awesome because of how genuine you two are with your reviews! Mastodon had to cancel where I live, but I'll catch them next time! When is your Gojira concert gonna happen??
1041. Ryan Soissong: Xiu Xiu. Do it.
1042. Biff Barf: N get to them shows n take them bands a lost in Vegas t-shirts.. talk about expanding yr viewer's.. a band member in a pic.. video or an interview somewhere else... people will be like.. who's lost in Vegas??.. next thing u know u got 4 million subscribers.
1043. Kevin Simon: I was sooo excited for Mastodon to come to Kitchener in Canada! I’m a huge fan and it was sad to hear about their manager “and Gojira’s” but they had to cancel the show! Glad you guys got to experience how awesome they are! Hope I get to see them in Canada soon!
1044. Colin Witkowski: Please check out The Mars Volta! L'via L'Viaquez is FIRE!
1045. ryanb107: I saw Gojira live with Children of Bodom years ago in Dallas TX. One of my favorite concerts of all time.
1046. Reinhardt Lochinger: Agent Fresco - Dark Water
1047. Pete Kolosick: Streambreather is a top 5 Mastodon song. Blood Mountain is the best album, front to back. If you want to hear a different sound by Mastodon, check out Toe to Toes. So freaking good.
1048. Zeinzu Androy: Im so happy to hear you finally went to a show. PLUS Mastadon!!! as a 1st show. WOOO bruthah!! Thats a great choice!!! Good on ya.
1049. CeaselessDischarge: It could also be your speakers or the quality of the video you're watching that makes the studio versions sound less appealing to you...
1050. Apex Orca78: This channel is awesome. This channel is magical. Phenomenal. Inspiring. Greatness. Highlighting the human capacity to try different things & that ventures benefits. 😎😃😎😃🤓,,, please do Danzig 666, Satan's child. The film hangover used a track form that one called the #13.
1051. Damien Delvallée: +n4rf too bad, because the last two albums sound way more crisp!
1052. allenro1: Dirty kitchen "the letter"
1053. Jamie Pakos: I saw Primus for the first time opening up for Rush in the early 90s! Wicked show. They are tight live!
1054. Kyron Klain: Diviniations, Jagaur God, Chimes at Midnight, Crack the Skye, Stargasm, The Last Baron, Clandestiny and Ancient Kingdom... there's too many great songs to choose from.
1055. Bobby Willingham: All That Remains needs a review. Jason Richardson is doing the tour right now. Oli loved him
1056. yves78: Dang, I requested both those songs. Thank you, so glad to see your reactions! Steambreather does have a break down that is proggy, but you are right it is an easier listen.
1057. QueenBee 1980: Tool-hooker with a penis When y’all gonna get to Pink Floyd?!? Puscifer- conditions of my parole Please
1058. Alex Hicks: Ryan, I hope you mean mono vs stereo, in which case you're right. If you meant analog vs digital, you're wrong! Ha ha. Digital was supposed to be superior to analog, but time has proven (to those who know) that it's not.
1059. Juan Castaneda: Metal is a big family everyone is welcome . open minded to different styles of music. You guys rock!!!! 🤘😎🤘
1060. VOIZES: You guys should check out PRIESTESS!!
1061. Unplayed Piano: It's encouraging you all had such a positive experience. The world isn't always what is recycled on television. Music lovers unite. AND DON'T FORGET- AT THE DRIVE IN / THE MARS VOLTA!
1062. Peter Garcia: Dammmn. That’s so cool, that’s an awesome pic with the drummer 🤘 go see a cannibal corpse show now lol
1063. PV5150II: I walked out during Primus. Mastodon easily stole the show and blew Primus off the stage.
1064. Call Of Caymen: Damn I was there I wish I could’ve seen you guys
1065. Bill Munny: Seen these guys more than seven times live, they put on one if the best shows
  1066. James Fowler: https://www.facebook.com/1946956915565423/posts/1971918109735970/
1067. MrGmonkeywillruleyou: Faith no more - Zombie Eaters Playlist foo!
1068. Zachary Garza: Lost in Vegas is pretty famous to the metal community it seems.
1069. Gregory Andreski: Please review rob zombie dragula
1070. allenro1: Corridor of Chameleons by meshuggah
1071. Ryan Globe: This is awesome! I'm so happy you guys got to see this concert! I saw them in Lincoln back in June and it was a great show! :)
1072. efrain iniguez: White Zombie - More Human than human
1073. Clayton V: Y'all might wanna invest some high quality earbuds/headphones. It takes it to another level.
1074. TylerPresents MITCH: As another metalhead who absolutely loves Fiona Apple I completely second this request! A Mistake or Every Single Night would also be good.
  1075. JC: O-bliv-ee-un. Not o-bliv-ee-on.
1076. Victor Cabanelas: Well, I always say that, to me, music is THE universal language and concerts are THE true communion. Maybe it's 'cause I'm from South America but, down here, every single one is into it: the band, the crowd, the crew, etc; and don't get me started about mosh pits... People think we're being violent but, actually, we're having fun! So, go to more concerts! Go see bands playing live! Hell, go listen to street musicians!! The live experience is perfect!
1077. Hristo Boyadzhiev: guys, you have to buy bigger and more powerful speakers, then you will be able to hear everything and you`ll get closer to a live concert experience.
1078. Uriah Reeder: CAT DADDY!! Call me SpongeBob stackin Krabby Pattys Bitch I go to work Do my Cat Daddy... I know I'll miss the giveaway, but hey love the channel, keep up the great work!
1079. allenro1: "Willie and wanda" by rick and bubba! 😂😄😃
1080. The Lowk: So for all you YouTubers out there ignoring me when I plaster "Check out Steambreather!" every time. See! Do it!
1081. SirCarcass: One thing I'll point out is they could make the album sound any way they want, but they went with what they did for a reason.
1082. BPhillipsDrummer: In my experience, Primus was kinda tough to see live if you're not a big fan of them (or are on...mind-altering substances). Les is buddies with the guys from Phish, who themselves are big fans of impromptu 'jam sessions' at concerts. Primus kinda do the same thing, so there was a long stretch during their set where my friend & I were looking at each other like '...the hell are they doing?'
1083. Nogrim: they really need to dump some of that youtube money on their sound setup.
1084. Michael Perez: Metal will almost always sound better live. The performances always bring such a great energy. There are songs that I don't even like on record that I absolutely rock out to live.
1085. K L: Flotsam & Jetsam - No Place for Disgrace(unmastered). Old school thrash metal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBE3mXKKw40 Flots Till Death!
1086. Ryan Foltz: Did Mastodon play Colony of Birchmen?
1087. Jonathan Martin: React to some In Flames!
1088. Anthony Ochoa: Awesome guys! I think Mastadon is better live
1089. RIFFS AND REPTILES: Great job! The sparrow next please 🤘
1090. Zachary Bratton: Powerwolf - We drink your blood You guys need to check these guys out. They’re a power metal band that have a sound that you guys haven’t cover yet.
1091. Roberto Cervantes: If you guys get a chance you would need to watch Metallica preform live. Big fan my dudes keep it up
1092. Dane Bono: Caught this tour at Red Rocks in May. One of the better shows I've seen this year.
1093. MetalAllDayAllNight: You got to see Mastodon live? With VIP?? Niiiiiiice! So cool. I am jealous!
1094. bobmfthomp: I honestly think they would dig songs off la sexorcisto more.
1095. Jordan Mayer: I love ember city! Guys check out they're ep cold dark place! This is so awesome to see guys!
1096. Harmony Wisdom: Primus - *Nature Boy*
1097. Garrett Bollig: Thats cool yall got to get out there and check out the other world of metal concerts. Maybe its time to give Primus that second listen? John the Fisherman or Jerry was a racecar driver would be a bit better than tommy the cat.
1098. KRAElliott: Do something from Khemmis please
1099. Noah Cooper: Also their production is usually quite good, I would try headphones it could be your speakers.
1100. Paul Hickey: Adam Calhoun Catch Hell!!! Must do a reaction on that!
1101. Moust Holmes: You should check out gojira gift of guilt live from London video
1102. James Bradshaw: Ho. Lee. Shit. This is awesome.
1103. ukneebaummer101: The picture makes you look like you have a bowl cut, it threw me off haha
1104. samantha brownback: Yay! This makes me so happy!! Huge Mastodon fan, Brann is a super cool guy. Glad you enjoyed the concert.
1105. Chance: Man I would of been so excited for Primus. Please check out The Contortionist, I just saw them live for the third time and they are absolutely incredible live
1106. Eloheem202: You dudes are legit music critics. That's your thing. Reaction seems lame to me
1107. Chirag Chittar: Absolutely fantastic video but I remember in one of the videos where you talked about your speakers being not the best so in order to aid your experience and in order to understand the nuances and to get over the production, have you considered updating your speakers or using earphones/headphones? It's just a suggestion because I understand you guys wanna keep it real/authentic and what not but doing that would actually help in understanding many of the songs better.
1108. Bones12x2: I'm curious to know what y'all are using to listen to the music for you videos and how loud it is. Metal is experienced very differently based on the quality and volume of the speakers more so than most other modern music types. I've never thought Mastodon was produced weakly. But I think you need to really blast it to get that power.
1109. Estevan Martinez: "Toe to toes" is my favorite Mastodon song ring now. Love it!
1110. OpThomasPrime: The metal crowd gets a lot of crap, but, it's one of the most welcoming and inclusive groups of people I've ever been a part of. Yes. Oh yes. It has ding dongs, like everywhere people are, but at its heart it's made up of misfits and when you're at a show? You're family.
1111. David P: Shane Smith same here. I don't know if they'll like it, but, it'll be interesting to see/hear their reaction.
1112. Depressed Hulk Hogan: Saw this tour. Amazing show then I saw Slayer on the farewell tour the same week. Amazing.
1113. soakedbearrd: You need to listen to Jaguar God
1114. Jen Hilla 98: It's the same thing during the whole song. Bad rec.
1115. Ali: I thought you guys werent gonna do this LOL, i gave up until i just saw this
1116. Steven McLaughlin: Gentlemen, thank you for everything! it was a great time CAT DADDY!
1117. Mike Faulkner: love you guys. I feel like i have been interested in turning on your metal heads, but i want something back. Give me some hip hop. i already listen to Dre, Snoop, Cypress hill...but i need something more, much love.
1118. Mark Arandjus: Brann Dailor's one of the best hard rock drummers of his generation, best drum fills in the game, you two are lucky :)
1119. Martin Dahl Nielsen: U like live metal??? Take a look at PANTERA’s live version of “Domination”, and let you blow away of the energy and there breakdowns And still do consider Some Pirate metal ! Look into ALESTORM and the track “Drink”
1120. Charlie: Perfect segway for you guys to do a reaction video for Primus, since you were busy during there set. Fans, put recommendations below!
1121. doomdrum: Damn!!! I'm jealous as hell!!!
1122. Evan Vincent: Cat daddy? Lol
1123. Cleveland Brown: Rumor has it that Gojira is in the studio marking a new album right now. You guys should definitely go to one of their shows once they’re touring again.
1124. Brandon Mcmanus: Triumph - Fight The Good Fight
1125. james dewitt: Never to old to be in the pit. Almost 50 here and spent the whole nite in the pit for Slayers final tour.
1126. Rasfreeman: In regards to the sound quality of the studio vs live. Mastodon's CD are mastered really hot. Which means there is a lot frequencies that are cut off and compression added to try and level it off. The term used for this is "brickwalled". Mastering engineers have been trying to make the music sound louder without distortion. Google "loudness wars" for more information.
1127. scrunty9dillion: Glad you guys finally got to a metal show. Go to more. 👍
1128. Donald Davis: someone needs to hook these guys up with some studio monitors
  1129. fuq86: Umm,.... cat daddy
1130. Ryan Soissong: Remission is THE album to listen to. Anything after Leviathan just ain't my ball game.
1131. Jacob Sharp: You guys need to reach to some live (or studio) drum cam footage. Brann Dailor and Mike Portnoy are great to watch. Eloy Casagrande in Sepultura's Manipulation of Tragedy is a favorite of mine to watch. And it's pretty fun to see how fast and technical death/black metal drummers can get but I don't have any specific recommendations
1132. ithaley: Do Wonder whats next - Chevelle !
1133. Anthony Hahn: Switch- Lupe Fiasco
1134. cwancyk: THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A GOJIRA CONCERT!! NOT MASTODON!!! Shit I like Mastodon, but I like Gojira way more
1135. Michael Richards: Scar Symmetry - The Illusionist or the Iconoclast!
  1136. Zachary Blumberg: +Axerty )
1137. SephL: Nice man!! You both really love music and that's what this channel makes the best of his kind. Keep it up!! Could you please do a Slipknot - The Nameless clip?
1138. Jeremy Lacuna: To your point, I never was a huge Mastadon fan. But they came to my hometown with MachineHead. Both bands absolutely threw down. There's just something about a live metal show that doesn't quite get captured on recording equipment
1139. Drew Mackintosh: Oh SHIT, I was AT that show! I'm mad I didn't see y'all, I would've loved to say hi
1140. Makesh¡fT™: saw them live when they were touring with high on fire and dethklok (some bands you should look into in your spare time) when I was like 8 (roughly 9 years ago) and it was absolutely incredible, I still remember the people next to me and how I felt when blood and thunder played
1141. The SmellyClam: So let me get this straight. You two were too busy to pay attention to Primus? Let me put it to you this way. Les Claypool is a ONE OF A KIND bassist. He sounds like nobody but himself, a legend. I can't name you one Mastadon song. Nothing against Mastadon, but you failed big time.
1142. Skilgannon the Damned: Yeah I disagree with Mitt 😂
1143. NiqueLeus: Mastodon is a cool band. I'm more into the extreme spectrum of metal, but I can dig great bands like Mastodon all day.
1144. ladime: Check out Light the Torch-“Lost in the Fire”. Howard Jones’s new band. Amazing
1145. thecrazynoemad: This is why I wanted to guys to meet me in Mexico for gojira lol live is a different experience.
1146. Ant Kings: man what a great show to be the first. those are some bad ass dudes man
1147. razer REAPER: Do a reaction to stuck mojo not promised tomorrow
  1148. Doom Head: Hellfest- 2019
1149. Jose Luis Guerra: Mastodon is my favorite band. I've seen them live and it was awesome. Can't wait for the next time they come to Texas. I think for people trying to get into Mastodon, might be easier to start with latest albums first, and then go backwards.
1150. Banzowski: Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (Live Wacken 2013)
1151. James Murray: Yo!! What’s up fellas? That was a great evening! Mastodon and Primus were both fantastic! Keep up the awesome job!! Thanks for the shout out🤘🏼
1152. B1G R3D: Mastodon puzzle please, haven't even watched the video...YET, what do I need to do, I actually put puzzles together, glue them together, and then frame them for my decor!
1153. Eric F: A lot of newer (CD/digital era) metal albums are brick-wall mastered, meaning the dynamic range is compressed so much that everything just sounds loud and muddy. Not sure if that is what you guys are hearing but Google "loudness war" for more info. http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/125934. Also you guys should check out Draconian - Stellar Tombs 👍
1154. Arturo Coyotl: Yeah, get some better speakers and listen to the actual cd if you can, if not then at least a high quality version..
1155. Michael Perez: That puzzle is dope af.
1156. HeyItsTSilver: You guys gotta check out The Smoke of Many Fires, by Be'lakor
1157. Magnus Ipsen: Check out their song Sleeping Giant
  1158. Tahoe Nevada: Fishbone- Servitude
1159. Jim M: +The Graceful Savage they usually add a song to their "playlist" if they like it after a reaction, and then i believe they listen to it over headphones. They've mentioned it a few times in older videos.
1160. tmmsplace: That’s the vibe of live music your feeling. Real money can be made in touring by packing in the crowd, selling merch to amped up fans. Come visit NYC and we’ll check out some slamming jazz.
1161. Ivan Zonta: +Transoceanic Winds That's some great news, thanks buddy
1162. Javier Gonzalez: It's cool to see how much the channel has grown in this time, and now I'm curious as to what you'd think of a Metallica, Maiden or any of the big classic metal bands live.
1163. Elijah Leineke: Mudvayne please 😇
1164. Timothy: Absolutely this. Trying to get into really busy heavy music over stock computer speakers is a really tough ask, almost impossible to pick up all the layers and have the true sounds come through.
1165. Fred Hobbs: Awesome upload! Congrats on your first metal show. Glad you enjoyed it. For the record, I hate muddled tunes... I need that crispness.I think I get you on that. I'm so happy you had a good experience at the show. Metal is supposed to be fringe but inclusive, IMO, and I'm glad you felt the positivity. Keep up the good work. Peace!
1166. K: Some slane castle always makes me splooge a little
1167. Chris Walter: Stop listening to metal on computer speakers, stop using other youtube videos, this is why the production sounds like hell. Look up the songs on spotify premium, and play it thru bigger speakers. You guys are far too big a channel now for this ghetto rig setup of just a greenscreen and a macbook from 2006.
1168. Ludovic M.: A quick story : after a concert in Paris back in 2009, exhausted Brann spent 10 minutes to get 2 drum sticks in his already-packed up drum kits, and signed them for my 4-years old son who was starting playing drums. This is how those Mastodon guys are : humble & accessible though famous and ultra-talented...
1169. Amer532: BATTLE ANGELS by SANCTUARY!!
1170. John Hampton: So cool to hear your stories! Seems like you had a great time! Peace!
1171. Jimini: That episode of Counting Cars where they fixed up his Cadillac "Twinkle Toes"👍
1172. Keisha Sophia Ramos: You should do ‘good Guy ‘ from Eminem And Jessie Reyez
1173. Luso CR7: Again, again i will send the comment bellow Greetings from Portugal! I think was in the vídeo Scorpions/Sails of Charon, Ryan say something his curious like how the bands sounds Live... My opinion you should see performance of the bands also. If you like the idea here some good tips AC/Dc 70s - Angus Young the guitar player his the best on stage Black Sabatth 70s - Ozzy Osbourne, you will see why his famous. His happy on stage Metallica with Cliff Burton the soul of Metallica Megadeth with Nick Menza on drums and Marty Friedman on guitar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3nEAmt5AZ8 - AC/DC Let There be Rock Live 70s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8B4BdAs0h4 - Black Sabatth, Snowblind Live 1978 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdlQyNe_9tE - Metallica, Form Whom the Bells Toll, with Cliff Burton (God) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr9q9d8-NhM&list=RDMr9q9d8-NhM&index=1 - Megadeth, Tornado of Souls This were times when bands had to prove they were good on stage too I hope you like it and hope you make vídeos with this. Keep going and God bless you both
1174. Andrew Kovacs: Elder - The Falling Veil
1175. Isaac Morrison: Steambreather is my favorite Mastodon song from their last three LPs. Absolutely perfect. Check out Cold Dark Place too.
1176. Vladthemetalhead: Ulcerate - everything is fire
1177. David Stewart: Whats the point of going if you're going to miss most of the opening act. You guys missed the best part.
1178. Xavier Gutierrez: Yes, hopefully now you can do Mastodon- the motherload(with the video) you have to, I won't punch a baby if you do this, I repeat, I WON'T
1179. Channel Tee: Hell yes!!!!! You guys rock for going to the show. Check you out at a Mastodon/Primus show. Wow.
1180. . cam: give Mastodon's Megalodon a try, there's a drums only track video out on youtube that lets you hear this dude get nuts- i'd recommend listening to the song in its entirety first obviously. You're definitely gonna enjoy that one
1181. TheRabidBanshee: Just starting the video but I'm hoping seeing Mastodon live changed your opinion of them, either way I'll continue watching! Also, the guys from Mastodon are some of the coolest guys in Rock, hope you had fun! Edit: I'm glad you had a new appreciation for the group! I always tell people you don't know how great a band is until you witness it live, it's such a different feel, vibe ect...
1182. 360Pros: This was a great vid guys! My wife and I just recently started watching you guys and have already been through several hours of content in a few days. Anyway we were both thinking that you might like to check out Halestorm if you haven't. They're a hard rock/metal band with a badass female lead. She has incredible vocals and the band are tight and sound good together. Two songs we recommend are: I am the Fire - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hkmuTvkp_s Apocalyptic - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PXkCAiV0Ww
1183. Sam Mcguinness: Dave fire in the booth
1184. Drew Knepley: who else wants a LiV t shirt????
1185. Josh Borders: not sure when you are giving stuff away, but Mastodon is my favorite metal group. I've got to meet them and they are all super nice and genuine guys, which is also what you all seem like, which is why your videos are always so good. Have I buttered you up enough to win some free swag :)? Win or lose you all are awesome though for real!
1186. Andrew Murray: Recording and producing the sound of a full rock or metal band is an art in which you need to make a lot of compromises in terms of reproducing how the music sounds when played live. To actually reproduce the sound of all the instruments played through amps LOUD in a physical environment is simply impossible, so you have to make compromises, first when you record all the instruments and then secondly when you mix all the instruments together into a single digital file. So the people who record and engineer this kind of music have to draw on their creativity, knowledge and taste to do everything they can to translate at least the feel, if not the actual sound, into the final recording. Although I would agree that the drums do get pretty drowned out in a lot of mastodon recordings, but making drums sound clear and huge in a track with 2+ guitars and bass that also sound huge is no easy feat, made even more difficult when the drumming is as busy as Brann's. But also, a good set of speakers will make a world of difference too! I think that since you guys obviously do this a lot, you should really invest in some proper speakers, with a good preamp and proper bass reproduction etc etc... This ended up being a long comment, whoops. Love and light everybody!
1187. Dan Sterling: Yeah, live vs studio is night and day with a lot of bands. It's what separates the mediocre from the professionals.
1188. Axerty: Viscera Eyes is another good option.
1189. Fred: Rolo Tomassi - Rituals
1190. RageAgainstRustyCage: I like Mastodon - High Road ,cool video, & the most popular Primus song is easily My Name Is Mud.... Primus does a great cover of Metallica's Thing That Should Not Be.  I highly recommend Reaction to both versions.
1191. nekrospike: Sounds like y'all are playing these songs on shitty speakers.
1192. John Stock: Hell yeah guys! I'm happy to hear you guys had a good time at a metal concert.
1193. Lee Thibidaux: Guy's back in 1997 I was in a local band from Gulfport Mississippi. we used to play in New Orleans and Metairie Louisiana. There was a club called Zeppelin's and we played a show with Mastadon and from that night I instantly became a fan. I knew they were a special band. So finally y'all get it
1194. FccRuinedAmerica andtheentireworld: Cynic - integral birth
1195. Sebastien Lavoie: This is so cool, i love watching you guys!!! I saw Mastodon 3 times and loved them everytime!!!
1196. Ali: PLEASE DO JAGUAR GOD- its such a Mastadon masterpiece from their new album (same album as steambreather)
1197. dallas broders: why you guys no Wynona's big brown beaver by primus
1198. Patrick Shelley: Seems more like you're lacking in the audio department. Because I've never had an issue with Mastodon's production value. Still glad you guys finally are starting to get into Mastodon.
1199. dannyoaks85: Motherload video. Do it.
1200. Kian Raz: Great to see you guys changed pyour minds on Mastodon! Now that your minsets and ears have evolved, it's time for you to try Post-Hardcore with one of 2018's best albums: The Ocean - Cambrian II: Eternal recurrence At the end, Mastodon's sound is very similar even though the compositions are more Metal based.
