- Jonathan Castillo: Might be a stretch but the whole project itself seems to be telling a story of someone who was living a thug life (slick talk) that eventually started seeing some success (westbrook) and then had people try to come at them so they had to still show that they weren't someone to mess with (off deez), they then saw a lot of the negatives about that lifestyle (151 rum) and they tried to change (off da zoinkies) only to quickly realize that it was harder to change than they thought (working out) and were having troubles with their love life (tiiiiiiied and skrawberries), they go back to weed as a coping mechanism (hotbox), then go completely back to the old bullshit but now with success on top (mounted up), then a moment of reminiscence (just the other day), and cap it off with a powerful message of being able to do what you want (despasito too)

Personally, if someone is an OG to the game, I simply give them my respect. That to me does not make someone one of the greatest of all time in my book. To me it would be the combo of what that artist contributed to hip-hop as a whole along with lyrical and technical ability (e.x. the # of artists they've inspired that have propelled hip hop further). Ever heard of "your favorite rapper's favorite rapper"? Those are the GOATS imo. People like Nas, Rakim, HOV, Pac, Biggie. In my personal opinion tho, Pac is NOT the GOAT and I can't even explain how many times I've been attacked by people for saying that. But Nas, HOV, (and for this generation Wayne) are all better than him by my personal criteria. But I definitely agree with you on what you're saying about JID. I'm one of his biggest fans and hearing how great this album is and realizing that he'll be able to top this gives me hope for the future of the game. He's letting other people know that you don't have to do that generic pop-rap to be successful!
